Looks great on my truck.

The first thing to fall off was the rubber seal that seals the top against the tailgate.

Purchased the Rollbak G2 from amazon.com. Package (2 boxes) came on time with no damage.
Found that one box was missing aluminum hanging brackets. Called manufacturer to get parts and was informed that any of their products purchased through amazon.com carry NO warranty from BAK Industries. Would have been good information before the purchase, but due to size and difficulty of returning this item I'm stuck with the purchase.
Called BAK Industries to get the missing part and was told it would ship out by a representative that didn't seem too happy it was purchased through amazon. Called a few hours later to check on shipping information and found there was no record on the previous call. Had better service, but still not to a normal customer service level that one would expect.
The cover hasn't been installed yet (still waiting for parts). One star review due to misinformation on warranty and manufacturer customer service.
If I get any further information I will update this review.

update: Feb 21 2013.
Received the parts after paying for shipping myself - though lucky it arrived okay, envelope was open and parts didn't slip out. Installation went well, product good quality. No further contact to/from manufacturer customer service. Summary: Happy with product, not happy with manufacturer customer service.

I am a professional handyman/general contractor.

I purchased this roll back cover for my 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel Crew Cab Long Bed in 2011 when my truck was new. I purchased it directly from BAK industries, not from amazon at the time.

It was relatively easy to install and I was able to do it myself. I also liked that I was able to use a ladder rack that did not interfere or cause for modification.

The positives: Easy Install, Adaptability, functionality. You can tie down a fair amount of weight on top of it, it functions great at first!

The negatives: Has always leaked water, the drain holes are small and get stopped up and are
Inaccessible to unstop when you keep the truck loaded with tools and supplies, so the cavity that holds the roll up door is always full of water, which causes freezing in winter, and causes interference with the rolling mechanism. (All because the cover is not water tight.

The first thing to fall off was the rubber seal that seals the top against the tailgate. It is glued to the edge of the roll up and ripped loose about six months after day to date use. It came loose, started to rip and interfere with my tools, then I had to rip it the rest of the way off. Now more water leakage. Next couple of months, the roll up mechanism got sluggish because of two things. The seals at the edges that also guide the operation of the roll up door in the track started to come out since they are just pressure fitted in the groove and not secured with a fastening system. They in turn came out of groove completely and now the door is metal to metal in the groove. Secondly because the roll up spring and mechanism started to get corroded and unlubricated.

After doing extensive research I chose the Rollbak G2 for my 2012 Silverado with regular cab and short bed. It arrived very quickly from UnderCarParts. I looked at my invoice and was shocked to see extended cab/crew cab making me believe I had the wrong cover. However, after consulting the Rollbak website I was reassured that I had the correct cover. I installed this cover by myself. It took more time than I thought (about 5 hours). Here's why.

1. The instruction booklet seems to be rather generic and not specific to my Chevy Silverado short bed. Some photos of parts to be installed did not appear to be the same as mine.
2. The same can be said for the instruction videos. The were helpful but not 100% clear to me.
3. Because of the above, I assembled a couple of things either upside down or backwards and lost an hour or so backtracking.
4. There were several items packed with the unit that were not called for in the instructions for the assembly of my cover. I hate to have left-over parts at the end of a project.

That being said, the assembly process went pretty well and the finished product is fantastic. It functions smoothly and as advertised. I also installed the Pop-n-Lock tailgate lock which works great too. I highly recommend the Rollbak G2. Also, I want to highly commend the Rollbak tech service. I called them twice with assembly issues. They answered the phone immediately and the guy I talked to knew exactly how to quickly get me back on track.

I have a locking tail gate and wanted a retractable that I did not have to lock. I just lock the tail gate and I am done. No separate key no worries. Installation took about 3 hours. I took my time. First new truck I have ever had so I took my time. My skill level is moderate to moderate plus. It leaks more than a solid fiberglass cover. I knew that before hand by reading the reviews and looking at a few installed on friends trucks. I have a bed rug as my liner so that adds to the water spreading when it leaks. So far no real problems with anything getting wet. If you have a ribbed liner bottom you will not have any problem except for the rear corners. Love everything about it. Saved hundreds by buying it on Amazon. I went to every local company and tried to get it from them but they would not even get close to Amazon's price. I am willing to pay more for brick and mortar local businesses but not 40% more. Arrived on time on the earliest date promised. Slight shipping damage due to improper packaging on the side rails. The rail had come through the plastic bag and the paint was scratched off right on the ends. I took pictures but just used a little touch up paint and you can hardly noticed. If BAK reads this review a piece of masking tape on the end corners might fix the problem. I also needed more spacers for my side rails. I used the extra washers that came with the kit. My side rails had a slight angle to them and I needed more of the spacers. Washers worked fine but the spacers would be more professional.
Love the operation of the unit. Works well for my needs. Much better for me than my last fiberglass cover but it leaks more. Looks great on my truck.
