Yeah, I know. I'm not the coolest looking guy in the pool with one of these things around my head, but at least I'm in the pool.

This would be fine if your sole purpose was to keep ears somewhat dry. I have metal permanent tubes in my ears and cannot get water in them at all so for water aerobics I wear custom plugs as well as this to help keep the plugs in place. However, the fit just isn't right (as an adult with a lot of hair and an average head size I ordered the adult size) as it keeps...

Yeah, I know. I'm not the coolest looking guy in the pool with one of these things around my head, but at least I'm in the pool.

For nearly all of my life, until recently, I've never felt comfortable in the water. This was primarily due to the fact that I've had troubles with my right ear since I was a tiny little kid. I avoided the pool like the plague. And the beach? Forget about it. Just a tiny bit of water in my ear and I was done. I'd feel sick, dizzy, and that feeling of water in your ear would last for a week. Infection was the usual end result. Worst case of swimmer's ear ever.

When I got into triathlons, I looked all over the place for something that would work. Silicon ear plugs (they always fell out when they got wet), rubber ear plugs (usually still let small amounts of water in - or worse, hit up against my ear drum!), among others.

Then I found the Ear Band-It. You'll still need some silicon ear plugs, but now they don't get as wet, stay in my ear, and I haven't had an ear infection since. Great product, who cares how silly you look!

I previously used to get bored swimming laps and couldnt realise my full potential, Then I bought a waterproof casing to hold my nano while swimming, but the waterproof ear buds eventually flooded fell out and distorted the sounds to a point where it once again curtailed my swim. With the band-it headband the buds stay firmly in place and in fact I swim so far now I cramp and am forced to get out.

This headband is great as it does 2 things. It keeps my hair out of my face (I hate bathing caps) and it keeps my earplugs in. Stays on, feels comfortable, and doesn't look bad either! I just bought a second one so I have a backup.

I used this product for my daughter who had to wear ear plugs due to perferated eardrums. They always fell out or water seeped in so she avoided swimming. With the Ear Band-It she was confident enough to go to the waterslide park.

5.0 out of 5 stars It Works!, March 10, 2012

I've long been plagued by a dislike for water in my ears. Now, I am prone to infections if I get water in them very often. While looking for new ear plugs, I came across this and figured I would try it. It worked perfectly! I ordered their recommended ear plugs (silicone), so I used it just as recommended and no water at all. I didn't need to keep adjusting it like I usually had to with a swim cap that kept the ear plugs in. This is great!

However, the fit just isn't right (as an adult with a lot of hair and an average head size I ordered the adult size) as it keeps slipping and I have to continually re-adjust. I would not be able to use this to swim laps.

I tried it loose, I tried it tight. It would not stay over my ears as I was swimming. Back to using a cap.

Really appreciated finding this item online, couldn't find it anywhere in a store near us. Product works well and my son will actually wear it without nagging. Very durable, will probably buy a second one to send to daycare and be able to keep one at home.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works well but not with goggles, August 6, 2011

Overall the ear bands are a great product, but they are a little difficult to wear if you are using goggles. They trend to slide up a little which defeats the purpose of having them.
