I was in Vegas when I saw this item (for $22 more than on Amazon.com!) and thought it would be a fun way to have a little bit of Vegas in my living room.

Feature-wise - there is a coin bank slot at the back of the machine, and a jackpot slot in the front. This is a great idea, but both areas seem to be a little small, so as far as using it as a savings bank, it's not so useful, if you have a lot of coins. The pull-lever works great, and the game part seems to be well-made/sturdy. You only get a jackpot when you get one of 2 or 3 combinations, though - I think the 7s and something else. When I get 3 cherries in a row, it doesn't pay out. When it does pay out, ALL the coins you put in the slot area come out. You can put batteries in to have blinking lights and sound, don't bother, that thing is so loud I took the batteries right out!

Fun as a gimmick, and the price on Amazon is what I think it's worth. I also bought one as a joke for a friend who loves slot machines and she adored it. Again, it's cute, fun for brief amusement and for guests, but would not recommend if you're looking for a coin bank that can hold a lot of coins.

We used this toy as a fun prop at our wedding on 7/7/7...everyone got a kick out of it...we added chocolate coins spilling out as a treat.

It was a little small but overall, the quality is still good. As for frequency of the jackpot, sometimes it occurs every 3 spins and sometimes every 15 so as for random, it is in fact very random. I dont like the fact that you can win on ANY combo of bar's and 7's. Other than that, I wish you were not allowed to spin without putting money in.
