The Bannerman series by John R Maxim is my favoriate series of books. I read them over and over as time goes by. My only complaint is that the writer has not written one in quite awhile.

To say I am hooked on Maxim's books and particularly the Bannerman series would be to put it mildly. I own his books in paperback and am now downloading and rereading on my Kindle. These are not deep intellectual treatises. They are well written escapism set in a Mass. town all of us would like to live in due the assured security maintained by Bannerman and his cohorts. They are all entertaining and well drawn and even though they are more or less on the most wanted list of every government in the world all of us secretly would like to be one of them. No one crosses one of Bannerman's people and survives to brag about it -- some are simply strongly admonished, others disappear. If you want an evening spent with entertaining characters who you would secretly like to join, read the Bannerman novels. If you want deep, introspective reading, these are not for you.

Edge of the Seat Suspence,
By V. G. Lewis (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bannerman's Law (Bannerman Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
John R. Maxim's tail of Paul Bannerman keeps you glued to your seat. The exquisit details of the set and persons make the story come to life in your mind. As bannerman leads you through the world of contract assasins and spies, the action pursues. The suspense is so shattering you don't know whether to run and hide - or keep reading. From page one you know exactly where Maxim is placing you - and Bannerman. Paul Bannerman leads you through the world of contract assasins and spies. Thisbook, as do all of Maxim's books, keeps you in suspense from page to page. This is a must read book. What will Maxim come up with next? |
