My 6 year old daughter enjoys playing with this quite a bit. She has only had it since Christmas so I don't know if she will continue to use it longterm at this point. From my standpoint there are several things I'm not impressed with. She has a braid across her head and it has already pulled loose. She came with a fish that you can attach to her tail while she swims but it falls off all the time. The one that most concerns me is that water gets into the mermaid part and into her upper body. I empty it out as best I can and we hang her upside down to dry but I'm concerned that mildew will grow inside her and we won't be able to see it. We had some 'squirt' toys when she was little and you could never get them to dry completely so they alway ended up with mildew. I would fill them with bleach periodically but eventually I just threw them out. I will try that with her at some point and hope that it doesn't ruin anything.

We have had this doll for approxinmately two years, and our 5 year old plays with her every day (and every night in the bathtub). The tail fin broke off after a few months, but this has continued to be a favorite doll. Just recently, we noticed mildew in the hip area (under the mermaid "skirt") -- unfortunately, with that, I felt we had no choice but to toss her into the trash. My daughter was heart-broken, so we're buying another one asap.

Our 4 yr old loves this Barbie doll. She plays with it in the tub at bath time. She has a lot of fun with it.
