I received this item three days after I ordered it. I was disappointed to find no install CD packaged with the HD, but then I read a note on the CD: "For easy installation use Seagate's DiskWizard software, available at www.seagate.com/support." I downloaded and used this software to clone and bring the new HD on-line. The various tasks are not for sissys, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist. I have my old 37 GB HD installed as a slave.

Great product, no complaints!!! I ordered this harddrive as a replacement for my laptop, and it was easy to put in, and worked perfectly.

A quick comment/review. This was purchased to replace a hard drive that would not always function, but would work after a couple restarts. I followed the directions to copy the Old Master hard drive to the Slave (the new seagate) and to mirror the Master harddrive. After removing the old hard drive and replacing with the Master with the Slave. I now have a new hard drive with all the software that was on the old.
