Ideal for long distance land or sky viewing, the Gladiator's wide variable magnification range allows the viewer to target in on an object and then zoom in and magnify for an extremely clear picture. Use the zoom thumb lever to make quick and smooth zoom adjustments. Very well made product.
George Mocodeanu
It would only zoom one eye and the other would just go out of focus and not zoom.
Gared
They seem to be well constructed and the optics are very clear.

For the price your getting quite a bargain. Is this comparable to Zeiss or Swarovski binoculars?, no.

What you get for the price is a low cost variable power binocular that is quite a bargain. This has got be one of the best "bang for your buck" variable power binoculars out on the market today for under $100.00. On the minimum (10X) setting you will find crisp clear detail with good light transmission even at lower light levels, a bargain at this price range. As you roll up in power you will notice the focus may require minor adjustment and clarity will degrade, but this is completely acceptable given the price of this unit. This is not your top of the line binocular for truly professional use, this is an entry level binocular for the budget minded user. This binocular is better than not having one at all.

One caveat with Barska is the hit or miss quality associated with this brand. I don't doubt the negative comments posted by some reviewers with this particular binocular, nor do I doubt the glowing comments posted by others. You could be pleasantly surprised with this model binocular. If your looking for a variable power binocular for under $50.00, look no further than the Barska Gladiator 10-30X50mm. Keep in perspective the price range of this unit when evaluating performance.

I too have very expensive binoculars so I don't need a lecture on the professional aspects of a quality binocular. I am simply providing an honest comment of this particular model binocular and how it performs in the (under $150.00) category.

Pros:
Price (under $40.00 SH included.)
Variable power.
Useable. Does the job good enough.

Cons:
Weight is a little heavy, but expected due to price.
Clarity suffers as power goes up and requires focus adjustment, but is good enough for most.
Fragile. I would not drop this thing from five feet up without expecting problems to arise.

Owned these for a while now, let me tell you they are great! The tint on the lens' (which is amber colored) actually makes everything a hint of green, which makes leaves/grass/trees blend in while wild game (brownish colors) stick out, which is excelent for hunting. If you are not a hunter be aware that these ARE tinted, not clear lens', which isnt a big deal i use them for many things just know that if u zoom in on your friend about 100' away they will look a little off colored. The zooming in/out from 10x-30x is easy you dont have to think about it at all or take your eyes off anything. Overall a great binocular at an awesome price, you will love them just as i do. 5 STARS!

Good item for the price, however above 20 power the image gets a little fuzzy.

We have really enjoyed these binoculars. They have a great range on them, and we use them often to scope out deer and to plot hiking and climbing paths. They seem to be quite sturdy and of quality materials.

These are horrible. So sorry I bought them. The image is clear enough but gets greyer as power goes up. I don't believe you would need more than 10-15 power ever!! The problem is on 10 power the circle of vision is small and you can almost focus with both eyes but as the power goes up the eye separation of the two images gets wider and wider so its impossible to see a single image. WOW??? Save your money.

Not satisfied/ opened package and was looking out of the window to focus binoculars and the zoom ring broke. Called Barska, and they wanted $20 to be sent in just to look at the broken binoculars. This happened the first time of use. not paying $20. If anyone want me to recommend binoculars Barska will not get a favorable review.

At 10-15, image is fairly clear. Anymore zoom than that and you have to close i eye, otherwise image appears cross-eyed.

First purchase of a binoculars and i am pretty impressed.

There seems to be worries of double images and uncollimated lenses, but these seem to be unfounded as the lenses are very well matched and collimated. The left and right images are only slightly off to the left and right respectively and i read somewhere that this is normal. No problems along the other axis of view as well.

There are some guides available online for collimating of binoculars if required and the mirror adjustments screws are easily located by prying back some of the rubber housing to expose the screws.

The image is bright at 10X and pretty clear. Though it gets a little dim and hazy at 30x magnification, it is sufficient for normal daytime observation. Personally i think it is fine unless you are that particular about having better image quality, which is something you should be willing to pay a premium for.

There was no issues with focusing, though being my first time using a bino i realized that there is the main focusing dial in the center to adjust the focus for both images and you can individually adjust the right lens focus using the eyepiece. Best way to go about using the bino would be to get your left image in focus using the main focusing dial then match your right image using the eyepiece adjust. This allows you to get both images in clear focus.

The bino also has a tripod adapter in the front to allow you to attach the bino to a tripod, however it is best if the adapter head has a small sized adjustable swivel to fit in. I tried using one of my camera mini tripods and it works as a passable tripod. This product does not come with any tripods, you have to get your own if you require one.
