5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scope for the Money
I bought one of these about a year ago for $99 on sale and have had it on a few small caliber rifles although it has now found a long term home on my Ruger 10/22. You can read the specs for yourself, it has everything that was advertised. I bought it primarily to sit on a 22LR and to put holes in paper at 50 and 100yds during the daytime. 1.0 out of 5 stars Dont Buy from Warehouse Deals
DO NOT BUY FROM WAREHOUSE DEALS. The company sent me a returned defective scope. The cost of shipping it back to Barska for repair costs 20 dollars and then Barska needs 25 dollars to check it out and send it back. $45 dollars total and 4-6 week wait time for a $83 dollar scope...this does not pay. I will not buy anything from this company again-----I was totally...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Scope for the Money, September 14, 2008
I bought one of these about a year ago for $99 on sale and have had it on a few small caliber rifles although it has now found a long term home on my Ruger 10/22. You can read the specs for yourself, it has everything that was advertised. I bought it primarily to sit on a 22LR and to put holes in paper at 50 and 100yds during the daytime. I need a bit more scope than most people. It is excellent at that and I highly recommend it. While it seems perfectly serviceable at twilight, of course it doesn't have the brightness or clarity of a $2000 scope then but it looks good in daylight and that's all that I need. I've also only shot it on 22 caliber rifles so I don't know how shockproof it is, but it has been fine for my use and very stable. It also hasn't fogged even when going from AC to 95 deg. & 90% humidity. It seems to be well made and all of the adjustments work well. The only strange thing is that it has "1/8" marked on the adjustment knobs while each click is actually 1/4 MOA - maybe it's inherently set up for 50 yds? One other note if you haven't used a high power scope, put good rings on it, it will make a big difference. Here is a photo of it on my Ruger (http://www.stingersplace.com/rimfire/1022/) although I've now upgraded the rings.

Take home message, it's a great deal for the money if your needs are similar to mine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Budget Scope, October 16, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
APPEARANCE: I purchased this scope for a Saiga 223, which it compliments quite lovely. The finish is actually a matte, though the picture here makes it look glossy. This scope does not come with rings, though that's fine with me as it did not advertise so, and usually scopes don't anyway.

FUNCTIONALITY: The ability to adjust focus and zero and all that is great on this scope. Easy to use and full of adjusting (if you're OCD about your settings like me). It comes with two clear lens covers that have a mild tint that brings out the light in a more color contrasted way. Zoom works excellent and is smooth to operate.

DELIVERY ON PROMISES: This scope loses on star here because it's ability to take in light is good, but not great. I can see well at dusk or in a rain storm, but it has a hard time adjusting to a good focus when it's even darker, like a moonlit night. It can focus pretty well, but not crystal clear at maximum zoom in the dark.

Overall, I still recommend this scope to a beginner or intermediate hobbyist who would appreciate plenty of zoom. For the price vs functionality, it is definitely an excellent buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good for the price, December 15, 2010

This scope was mounted on a new Savage Model 12FV in 204 Ruger. Out of the first 40 rounds fired from this gun, I had 2 or 3 .5inch groups and one .31inch group, all at 100 yds. 2 things become apparent from these facts, the gun is a keeper and the scope obviously is doing the job or the gun couldn't do its' job. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that this scope is hard to use if the setting sun is anywhere in front of you. It gets so bright it is distorted and it is very hard to find eye relief that gives a crisp image. Not the first one of these I have owned so it wasn't unexpected. Other than that, works like a more expensive scope with accurate, 1/8th moa click adjustments which are easy to hear or feel when made and the reticle responds to the adjustments without getting hung up and moving belatedly. Will continue to purchase this brand scope when another is needed.

Decent scope with easy adjustments and good range visibility.
Havent shot many rounds yet to see if it stays true.
If you purchase this one be sure to get some quality high rise scope rings.
Was quite surprised they wernt sold with this unit.
Happy shooting !

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon does it right and Barska does it ok., January 16, 2011

First, asking Barska to deliver a flawless 6x24x50 scope for around $70 is totally unrealistic. We know that coming in. Right? Now onto the meat. The first scope had to be returned. It simply would not hold zero. Amazon was beyond gracious in their business dealing with me. They took the scope back and had a new one to me within 2 days of contact. What an excellent company to deal with. The scope that I have now is mounted on a 22 bolt action, so I cannot speak to it's ability to withstand recoil. This new one holds zero and has, for the money, an extremely clear view. It will get a bit blurry at around 20 power. It has an excellent focus on the objective. I have not box tested it yet and would not be surprised if it either does or does not repeat correctly. Oh, the mil-dot reticle is very clear and the windage and elevation turrets have a good solid detent feel.
In closing I would say that I am fairly well satisfied with the purchase. a $70 scope of this power is a crap shoot. So far so good.
Buying from Amazon, on the other hand is not a crap shoot. They are simply excellent to deal with.

So far this scope has held up well. I mounted it on my 17 varmint rifle and can hit fairly consistent 1 inch groupings at 100 yards. Why buy a scope that costs more than your gun?

I read some reviews about this scope and i decided to give it a try. Well, it looks like you get what you pay for. Works ok on low power, it gets blurry at high power. You can not really use it from 36 to 40. It should cost $50. I will probably not buy from Barska again.
