The title says it all; this was not the quieter replacement I had hoped for. Still, our old clock movement had broken, and this has been an inexpensive but reliable replacement. The company that sold it (American Science & Surplus) is great!

This appears to be as good as any clock movement, however, the center post was too short for my clock. Oh well.

I bought 20 of these for a project I did with my middle school art students. They painted color wheels on old LPs and then we added the clockworks-the 12 colors in lieu of numbers. They were easy enough for my 6th graders to put together. The plastic hands were cheap but so was the price. I thought it was a good value.

Have 2 basic clocks, 1 outdoors on a tree and 1 by entertainment center.For a low price, they work and easy to put together.

The clocks themselves are perfect for my need. I order them in large ammounts at a time. However, the reason this is only four stars is because the first time I ordered from them, something went wrong with the shipping. I had to wait three extra days before they finally arrived. I don't think its a common thing, but I felt it should go on the review.

I bought this as a replacement for a novelty clock. Even using the rubber grommet to isolate the movement from the body of the clock, the ticking is VERY LOUD!

Unit did not give measurements. Unit is NOT standard type. The original hands from the clock do not fit this unit. Make sure you know what you're buying or you'll end up with a loud clock with JOKE HANDS. (Minute hand is less than 2", hour hand 1")

This unit may work with another application but I'm left without my money and a silly looking clock with JOKE HANDS!

I still have not received the clock. Very disappointed in your service. This is the second time you have asked and gotten the same essential poor performance answer AND STILL NO DELIVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
