5.0 out of 5 stars Very good iTouch alternative, especially considering the price
Got my player about two weeks ago, and I'm pretty pleased with it thus far. It's easy to add files, and it plays everything just fine. If you're looking for something that really competes with the iTouch in quality, then this isn't for you, but if you're looking for something that's good quality for the price you're getting it for, then you'll love this. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
I have had this MP5 player for two weeks now. So far so good. It's feather weight and does not require any expertise in transfering music files and videos. Once fully charged, battery seems to be holding for a couple of hours. That's not bad considering the price. I don't know what's down the road, but as of now I am really happy with my purchase.

It took me a while to figure out how to convert the videos properly (I kept running into a file format error), but I did figure it out. In case anyone else is having the same issues, use the avi conversion tool that's on the disc that comes with the device. Just make sure that the resolution is set to 320x240.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Decient, August 21, 2009
This review is from: ABCDEGFF (Electronics)
Well first it got delivered earlierer than said, then I got it and it was almost fully charged so I added songs right away, and so far so good. I have had it for almost two weeks and it does what it says it does. I have all of my music on here, I have some pictures on it, but the thing that I have had the most trouble on was trying to get my movies to convert over to AVI so they would play, so far I dont have any movies on it. I was also wondering if there were anymore silicon skins for it other than the one it came with? That would be good...But in all sense, I actually like this and I would recommend it to anyone, but I do have to say that I hope that it doesnt crap out like some of the other reviewers say it has...

1.0 out of 5 stars First Impression - Works But No 64-bit Driver, February 2, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

****************Update***********************
It died! I am downgrading my original rating.

The touch screen interface is no longer functional. There is no sound coming out this unit. It powers on but no touch with the stylus or finger can make it work.

It has been less than 4 months since it was purchased. But it is out of its short 90 days warranty. It is a total loss at this point.

I would caution potential buyers to be careful about this product. It may not last more than 3 months which is already beyond its warranty.

****************Update***********************
=================================================================
I ordered this through Amazon, the only way I would feel safe for something like this. It arrived in two business days as promised via the Amazon prime two day shipping.

My first impression was that this is smaller than I thought. The touchable screen works without needing the included stylus if you are careful and make use of the +, M and - keys at the bottom. There is no place to store or attach the stylus though.

Connecting it to my Vista x64 desktop did nothing. No drive showed up. The Windows tried to install the driver but was not successful. No matter what I did, it never worked under 64-bit Windows. Connecting it to a 32-bit Windows XP or Windows 7 worked perfectly. It was recognized by Windows as two removable drives, one for the internal 8Gb memory and another for the miniSD card slot. Without the miniSD card, the second drive was not accessible.

Transferring music to it was pretty straightforward. Just drag and drop the files to the first removable drive. The transfer speed seemed decent.

Since I bought this player to play music, the quality of the video display did not bother me as much. But I would not want to use this player for video.

For $50, I would say it is not bad. The music interface did not show the album art like it did with my Garmin Nuvi or my LG Chocolate 3.

Before you buy it, make sure you have a computer running the 32-bit Windows (XP, Vista or 7). Otherwise, you may have to bother your friends in order to load the music or video.

1.0 out of 5 stars mp3/mp4, April 16, 2010

I have tried to use this item several times. First the battery dies out extremely fast. Additionally, after I download music, it plays the downloads for about 3 seconds then goes to the next song which lasts about 3 seconds. I would not even rate this item if possible.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sent wrong device, April 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ABCDEGFF (Electronics)
I ordered an 8GB device but was sent a 4GB device instead. It was not shippers' fault but manufacturer's fault because the sealed box was labeled 8GB but the device actually had only 4GB of storage. I was willing to accept the poor quality of the device because of the low cost, but the fact that they sent the wrong device is unacceptable. So I returned the device and got my money back. Issues I found in one day of use were the following:
1. It would not turn itself off so will lose battery very quickly when not in use)
2. Nine times out of ten PC would not recognize the device so could not load music
3. There is no auto synchronization anyway so you have to copy files manually
4. Active area of touch screen with icons is buried underneath the front plastic so you can't access the scrolling icon

To be fair, Amazon was prompt in handling the return and got my money back within the promised time frame without any issues so I am still happy with how this transaction was handled by Amazon. I would not recommend this device to anyone.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works fine, for the price it's great., February 12, 2009
This review is from: ABCDEGFF (Electronics)
Works fine, it takes a bit to understand how to work it. It could be better, but for the price you can't beat it. Seems to work fine for now. I wonder how long it will last. The sansa I got only lasted about a year and was not used very much. I hope this one lasts longer.

The general quality of the product is very basic, you pay for what you get. Good enough for what I needed to have a MP3 in the car to play my favorite music, but navigating its software is not easy specially when driving. The earphones it came with were damdaged but no lose as the quality was not worth requesting to change them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Deal, March 18, 2010

Kel (Tulsa, Ok) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ABCDEGFF (Electronics)
I was really reluctant to purchase this product because of the mixed reviews. Than, when I received it, it stopped working after one day. Returning the product was a pain and I was never reimbursed for my shipping cost. However when I got my new player it worked great. I have had it for months now. Easy to download pics and music. I use it to take video all the time. Photo quality is okay. Takes a while to capture the image to the subject has to be completely still. Have not used the ebook feature. Protective cover is cut wrong so I have to take the sleeve off to use camera/video because the hole does not line up correctly. Overall, defiantly worth the money. Really easy to use and download music to.
