4.0 out of 5 stars Nice tracks but only 1 CD
In the Editorial Review is writed that it's "Now Expanded to a Double CD Set" but when I did open the packet I just found 1 CD but no problem because it's possible to listen over then 76 minutes of NICE music. Some tracks is hard to listen due the bad audio from BBC,but good versions.Good deal!Try it!

2.0 out of 5 stars Only for the fans (maybe), and beware the sound quality!
Even for avid Nice fans like me, this disc is hard to justify purchasing. The problem is that the recordings sound like they were recorded off of a table radio typical of the period. They go to some length in the notes about how they improved the quality from the originals, but you have to scratch your head and say why bother.

However, kind of a thrill to...

However, kind of a thrill to hear the Nice playing Zappa's "Lumpy Gravy" (really!) Also interesting I suppose to hear most live versions - although "Little Arabella" is actually the studio mix from Ars Longa Vita Brevis(!!). That's the kind of production this is.

All in all I just wish there was some way of knowing when you purchase this what you are getting, since this falls far short of today's standards for nostalgic live recordings (such as the Old Grey Whistle Test discs).

4.0 out of 5 stars Essential for Keith Emerson fans, Stay away if your an audiophile, February 14, 2007
This review is from: BBC Sessions (Audio CD)
SOme of the music here is incredible, despite the shakey recordings off the original broadcast tapes from BBC radio. Five Bridges (trio version) and the rare "Aries" are worth the price of admission. For completists only.
