This is the ultimate magazine to have if you're a fan of BBC Top Gear on BBC2 Sundays.

Since the magazine deals almost exculsively with UK market vehicles, it's not of use to a subscriber outside of that area except for entertainment...and if you know the show...you know what to expect.

However the subscription price is rubbish. You can purchase a copy (albiet about 2 weeks late) each month from your local book store that covers world periodicals for the cover price of $9.25, nearly $5 less than a subscription per issue.

For those who love cars and would like to see how the other half lives, this is a great magazine. Highly focused on it's native British market, it makes for interesting and often amusing reading. If we had half the cars currently available in Europe/Great Britain, the big 3 would be gone.

However, a subscription price of nearly $15 per issue is flatly absurd. You can reliably pick this up each month at large book stores. It simply isn't worth that price.

Yes it is expensive, but it must be known that 1 page of Top Gear is more interesting than a whole issue of Car and Driver. Subscribing means paying more ($10.95 listed at bookstands) and getting each issue 2-3 weeks later. I used to subscribe, but I get them at Borders now.

If you're interested in cars and can handle sarcasm and well founded criticism, give this magazine a try. Well illustrated and beautifully printed this really is the ultimate European car magazine. Main focus is on cars available on the UK market. Not to worry, the ones not available there aren't worth driving anyway.

You can easily pick this up at most major book stores for $5-8 dollars per issue.

This isnt just the best automotive magazine, it is the best magazine out there. I subscribe to the 5 major US car mags, and this is by far my favorite. It is also over 300 pages an issue, which is 2-3 time more content than US car mags.

Which gets me to the only reason why one may not want to purchase this. the price. Yes it is steep, but you get what you pay for in this case. it is about 10x the price of a subscription to Car and Driver, however I must say that it is 10 x better. I understand that money is tight these days, but if you can afford it I would reccomend. You can also go to Borders or similar book stores and pick up an issue for about $12 (including tax) whenver it fits into your budget. I

I just got a Kindle Fire with one magazine in mind. Turns out that its not offered on Kindle! WTF?!?!?

Top Gear is an awesome magazine. However, the subscription price, which is more significantly more expensive than the stand price, significantly lowers its score.

I've pre-ordered the Kindle Fire primarily to read Top Gear, Evo, Practical Photography on the tablet. Paying $10 a pop for these things is frankly ridiculous.

I still prefer to read books on the e-ink screen but Magazines are best viewed on glossy paper or a nice IPS panel.

Great photography, informative articles in the Top Gear Style, a coffee table quality publication that is done quite well. "Top Gear Subcriber's Edition" covers all classes of automobiles from Alfa Romeo to Volvo. It is definitely a British publication right down to car prices being listed in Pounds. It does not cater to the US manufacturers even to the point of a well justified bias towards EU automobiles. So, if this might bother you then get in your pick-up, drive to the store, and by any other car magazine. Careful not to hit your head on your bumper going out to your truck. I highly recommend Top Gear Magazine for those that want who want accurate detailed information from a drivers prospective.
