very effective, USA made, well built, actually improves tone, January 6, 2011

I was looking for a D.I. for acoustic-electric guitar and bass. This unit really does a great job. Its made in the USA, has a five year warranty and works very well. I needed the ability to feed both a balanced XLR out along with a 1/4" line to the amp. The sonic maximizer circuit is a nice bonus.
It's a subtle improvement on acoustic but a real game changer for bass guitar! I was sceptical at first but I'll always keep it in use for my Jazz Bass. I highly recommend this unit. It's only downside is it's too big to fit in my bass case and it eats 9volt batteries pretty quickly. This is not a problem if you use the supplied "wall-wart" power supply however. Good job BBE!
