This is a very user friendly EQ because of the selectable +-6/12 dB range switch. It has been kind of a finicky trick to set frequency sliders on a 1U sized eq in the +-12 or 15 db scale. The 6 dB scale makes tuning a system with this inexpensive and compact eq easy, that is tiny slider movements don't make large changes. Balanced I/O connections, quiet operation............good stuff.
