should have had five stars ....but, May 28, 2010
This review is from: BBE Sonic Sweet Audio Plug In Suite (CD-ROM)
This product is essentially a series of enhancers. There are a number of enhancers on the market. Some have a sweet sound and some which sound like complete crap. These are some of the sweetest sounding ones that I have encountered.
They are not particularly difficult to operate, and I use them to give my recordings that subtle indescribable "pro" sound.
The cost is very reasonable.
I would give it five stars except for one thing. The copy protection setup is far too aggressive. Anytime anything has aggressive copy protection it means one thing. You bought it, you paid for it, but you are going to loose it! Systems such as Ilock and Pace are far too convoluted and only work when everything works perfectly. In the real world things happen. Disks fail, computers sometimes need to be reformatted, people upgrade computers. In such situations, you may be able to restore the software from backups, but the copy protection will keep them from working.
This means that when these inevitable problems occur, you may spend half an hour reinstalling your software but days running around in circles trying to get your plugin's copy protection to work. In a large number of cases you simply will not be able to get them to work again. Hence "You bought it, you paid for it, but you are going to loose it".
I will at least say that BBE has given a disk validation as an alternative to the Ilok key. Ilok is absolutely the worst one imaginable and I recommend that no one ever by any Ilok product under any condition. However Pace the disk validation is only slightly better.
The bottom line is this. When a comparable product comes on the market with less aggressive copy protection, then go for it. However in its absence the BBE products are great as long as you understand what you are getting into.

My hubby purchased this plugin for his home studio he have tried and tried hours to get this thing to work, even I tried.the software/cd rom disc that came with it does not let you download the plugins from the cd.now they sends you to a website called nomadfactory.com they was not helpful at all,you get four tries to try to get the license when those 4 tries run out you have to contact the company through email.they then send you crappy instructions telling you to uninstall the program and do it over.buyers beware... this is crap.I think if people spend this much money on software you should get everything included plus more.If i can rate -10 stars i will.

Works as expected!, December 20, 2011

I purchased this after working with it at a friend's studio. He is using Sound Forge and has used the plug in for a number of years. I wanted it for my voice studio using it on a Mac with Adobe Audition CS5.5. I was set to get the Sonic Maximizer only until I saw the price of the Sonic Sweet was only slightly higher.
The bottom line: I liked what my friend did with my vocal recordings with this and was convinced that this was something that would help make my voice sound fuller and bigger. Sure, maybe I could EQ it and make it sound the same, but the demonstration I had with the Sonic Maximizer was enough to convince me that this is an easy plug in to use.
I'm sure it has a number of applications and I'm equally sure that it has limitations in its use, but for what I intend to use it for, it seems to hit the mark and is well worth getting, provided you are doing your own editing and engineering. If you intend on sending a mix to an outsider to engineer, I would steer clear of using this as it could create more problems than its worth.
