Great wireless for the price,

This computer has a lot going for it. I bought it specifically because I wanted wireless cadence, and this was as cheap as I could find it.
It was fairly easy to install, despite the cryptic instruction manual. It comes with strong rubber bands to attach most of the components, so they can be installed and removed without having to cut zip ties. I have a little trouble keeping the cadence transmitter in place, but only on really bumpy sections or when I throw the bike in the car. The display is excellent. It's incredibly easy to read, and I love the fact that it uses *words* to convey what data you're looking at. To me, this ended up being the best feature. All my past cyclometers had tiny icons with no meaning. Half the functions are accessed by one button, the other half by a different button. Things like the clock are in one set, while speed, cadence, and trip time are in another. This works well for me. Usually, the computer will start up when you start rolling, but sometimes you have to hit a button to wake it up. This is a minor annoyance. It has dual bike functions with the optional kit (though it won't do cadence on the second bike). I don't use this right now, but I'm considering it for my mountain bike. When the computer on that bike breaks, I'll probably do just that. All in all, it a pretty great cyclometer. It works as advertised, it's inexpensive for wireless cadence, and the display is awesome.

BC1606L w/ cadence,

As others have pointed out that the instructions are a bit cryptic, none the less, it is accurate. The O-rings in my opinion are to help in locating the speed and cadence sensors on first installation, not a means for sole placement. There are plenty of supplied zip ties to secure the sensors once the optimum locations are found.
Installing the batteries in the speed and cadence sensors require a supplied special tool to lock the battery door. I think that a better way would be to mold in a coin slot instead. But thats their design. Make sure you align the arrow and dot when installing the battery door. Placement orientation of the sensors are essential. Make sure you look at the pictograms to see that the sensors are in the correct location. I installed the cadence sensor in the wrong orientation at first and could see that the crank magnet was being sensed, but it didn't register on the computer. Looking a the manual again, I see that the cadence has to be located on the horizontal wheel stay. After I relocated the sensor here, the cadence works fine. I did have a problem with the cadence sensor, the battery check light would not show an indication. I called Sigma customer service, got right through, there is a little "tang" on battery door that had broken off. Sigma customer service is sending a new one, 1st class mail. In the mean time I jury rigged a new tang on and got the cadence working, waiting for the new battery door for a permanent solution. This product does everything I wanted in a wireless bike computer with cadence. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the battery door. For the money it's hard to beat.

Good Buy,
This review is from: SIGMA BC1606L CADENCE DTS Double Wireless Bicycle Speedometer (Sports)
Although I don't ride much, I wanted a computer with cadence so it could also be used more easily with a stationary trainer in the winter without having tomess with wires. This product seems to work great on both rode and trainer. The only issue I have is that I keep bumping the cadence transmitter out of place, especially when transporting the bike, so that I have to reposition it before every ride.

cadence receiver finicky,
Not easy to use. It gets locked in the wrong menu and has to auto shutoff before working properly. Cadence receiver moves about. The rubber bands are not enough to hold it in place.

Flimsy Speed Transmitter Mount = DOA,

The mounting system for the speed pickup is incredibly badly designed--it's just an o-ring that wraps around the fork. Not very secure for a part that needs to be 20mm or less from fast-moving spokes. So the first bump I hit, the speed transmitter slips into the spokes, which killed it and wrecked the spokes on a $300 wheel. The computer worked great for a whopping .3 miles. Give this one a miss.

Invest in something better - this doesn't last!,
This review is from: SIGMA BC1606L CADENCE DTS Double Wireless Bicycle Speedometer (Sports)
I was looking for a wireless computer with cadence, an easy to read display and easy to use while riding. This did pretty well at first. I got "blank outs" on speed and distance every few miles, but they didn't last more than a minute or so. The computer then "guesses" at the distance missed and your distance suddenly increases. This adds up over time to an inaccurate reading on a long ride. I was slightly irritated with this quality, but lived with it. Now 7 months after I got it, it's got a mind of it's own. It works perfectly for a while, and then can't find the speed or distance (but can do cadence!) So on a 20 mile ride I'll come home with it reading 4.8 miles. (Yes, I've replaced the batteries, no change.) The odometer reads 35,182 (that happened after I passed the 1,000 mile mark). It's so irritating and frustrating now, that I just use it as a clock and will be looking for a longer lasting replacement. You get what you pay for. Invest wisely.

good but not great,

I found this speedometer very hard to install on my bike. The cadence part is the hardest to install, and sometimes still fails. All other features are good.

This product has a clean display, works very well. Only gripe is that the rotating magnet(that is fixed to the spokes) has to be very close to the sensor that is attached to the front fork. It cant be more than 5 mm at the most. the specified 20 mm is imaginary. wont work.
But otherwise, the product is a great buy. no regrets.

Problems getting started! Save $ and aggro and go with a Cat Eye,
This review is from: SIGMA BC1606L CADENCE DTS Double Wireless Bicycle Speedometer (Sports)
I purchased this computer despite the negative reviews and got bit. Installation is relatively simple for anyone who can change a battery, but the instructions are horrific, diagrams only and very unorganized. Installed the cadence transmitter, speed / spoke magnet and computer in a few minutes, but I had difficulty getting the speed sensor to align on my Cinelli's ovalized fork and the magnet to stay secure on my bladed spokes. It just never appeared to sit well on the fork, so I used double sided foam tape and heavier zip ties than those provided and epoxyed the magnet to the spoke.
I experienced the same "battery" issues (2 DOA) and installed 4 fresh batteries so I wouldn't have to mess with it later. I also had a real problem with a defective speed sensor, which necessitated a return. The customer service rep was friendly, helpful, recognized that the manual s&%$ed and sent anew sensor and revised(?) manual diagram for the speed sensor install within 2 days. I guess you get what you pay for! Thoma59

SIGMA BC1606L CADENCE DTS Double Wireless Bicycle Speedometer,
This review is from: SIGMA BC1606L CADENCE DTS Double Wireless Bicycle Speedometer (Sports)
I found This Wireless Speedometer To Be Of Good Quality. Only Issue Is With Range Of Sending Units. Cadence Unit Range Is Fine But Speed Unit Range Not So Good. Be Sure You Can Mount It Close. Mine Loses Connection Once In While At Only 18" Away From Main Unit!
