As a good comic book owner, I get excessive pleasure out of putting them in little plastic bags and backing boards. I love seeing all my comics nicely cared for and filed away in comic boxes. In fact, I love this so much I have been on a mission to re-bag my collection, some of which have been yellowing away in their old plastic bags for multiple decades.
Re-bagging an entire collection is an expensive proposition, one made much easier and much affordable by finding this "200 Current Size Comic Book Bags and Boards Combo." They fit modern size comics, so if you have any Silver of Gold you will need something else. The bags and boards are great, as high a quality as anything else I have bought before, and the price is unbeatable.
If the bags and boards fit each other then I would have given the product a much better review, as the quality seems nice--the bags being relatively thick polypropolene and the boards being acid free and laser cut (i.e., not having all the little paper shards that some comic boards come with). DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY DO NOT BUY.
Just for future reference, the BCW boards fit perfectly into Ultra Pro Current Comic bags. That is what I ended up doing, throwing away the BCW bags and using Ultra Pro with the BCW boards.
So the good:
Comics fit snug and have enough room for the bigger editions (annuals and specials).
In my first stack of cardboard backs I had four missing.
In my second set I had another five missing.
In my second set of clear holders there were two that were clearly a different size than the rest of them.
I'm not sure if I'll order the same ones again. I may look around at other reviews for different products before buying more.
Simply put, the boards that I received did not fit the corresponding bags. Both are labeled "Current" and appear to be fine upon initial inspection. Indeed, the boards were identical in size to other BCW boards that I've purchased at comic book stores because I used them with an old package of bags without a problem.
However, when I moved to the new bags included in this product, the boards simply will not fit. I pulled out a ruler to check and quickly located the source of the problem. The bags are supposed to be 6 7/8" in width. But these bags are just a hair over 6 3/4" in width. Given that the boards are 6 3/4" in width, this makes for an untenable situation.
I was able to get a board to fit into one of the bags after about ten failed bags, but it slid in with great difficulty and (as others have reported) ripped the seams of the bag. It's quite annoying to drop $30 on bags and boards that will not work together.
Bottom line, I'd avoid this seller and buy your bags at a local store where you can address any such inconsistencies with the seller.

Good product. Bag is a little on the weak side (ripped a few while inserting boards), but otherwise decent for the money.Published 1 month ago by Dan F.
