Good reasonably sturdy storgage for a load of cards stored in portrait fashion. This enables you to move around a huge collection all at once.
I'd also get some BCW card dividers (packs of 10 to mark where different types of cards begin & end) + some BCW Monster pad dividers - which when placed next to cards prevent them moving about when you don't fill up a whole row - kind of expandable foam stuff. You don't want to completely fill a row otherwise you can't get your fingers in - so just remove a pad to get at your cards. Takes sleeved & unsleeved cards. The boxes arrive flatpack in 3 pieces and although once you have made up one box its obvious - initial assembly can be tricky. Fold everything on the creases basically and you won't go far wrong. Instructions sent from BCW below (although they make it sound a bit more complicated than it is). Flare out the ends of the dividers and put the flared ends under the box side tabs - is the only thing you would probably need advice on: Cardboard Box Instructions 3 pieces Base Lid Divider(s) 1) Break apart the dividers a. Fold each in half and flare the ends apart 2) On the base: a. Fold up the 2 sides b. Fold in the end-tabs c. Fold up the ends d. Fold over far right divider tabs e. Insert folded divider ends under the divider tabs f. Fold down divider tabs adjacent to inserted divider g. Continue e & f until you finish your base 3) On the lid a. Fold up the sides b. Fold in the end-tabs c. Fold up the ends d. Fold over the ends and lock tabs into the slots

I actuly bought two of these, as my first one filled up. it holds 5 rows of cards. each row can contain a large number of cards I'd guess somewere between 1,000- 2,000 cards.Anyway it took me 1 year to fill it. My only gripe is the lack of assembly instructions. I used a web site that had a pdf file with instructions to assemble both of my boxes. once assembled thought they are invaluable. these boxes are huge hence the "monster" title. it comes flatend and takes about 10 minutes to assemble with online instrutctions.I would still buy over other lesser quality boxes.

As a Magic player with an ever-growing collection, I had no real idea how many cards I had until I put this box together and started filling it up. Previously, I was using left over Fat Pack hard boxes and a single big plastic card sorter box that held maybe 1,000 cards max, on their sides. Now I've got EVERYTHING sorted into this one big box; lands in one slot, colored cards taking up about 2 slots, colorless cards taking up half a third slot, and the rest of the space used up by deck boxes and as-of-yet unsorted cards. Note that some of those deck boxes are in fact empty and acting as spacers so the cards don't all fall over. I absolutely love this box; sorting in new cards and searching through my collection during deck building has never been so easy for me.
I do have a few small quibbles, though. For one, when full, this thing is HEAVY, but that's to be expected. Second, as others have said, you have to put it together yourself, but anyone with a little common sense and a look at the finished product image here online should be able to fold the pieces and slot them together in about 5 minutes. Lastly, mine shipped in a massive and largely empty (as in wasted space) cardboard box, easily 5 times bigger than the resulting assembled card box. Looked like a flatscreen TV or something could've fit in it, Styrofoam and all. It seemed like overkill, but my cat had fun playing in it before I threw it out.

Overall, this a great way to store your cards, and a much more compact way to store them as they are able to slide under beds etc.
However I will mention that you might be able to find them cheaper in person than online. I went down to my local card/memorabilia dealer, and he sold me the 5000 ct boxes for $5 a piece.

Finally, something to help keep my boyfriend's MTG cards organized. Great buy, sturdy, & easy to assemble. Received on time & would buy again if needed.

I use several of these boxes to store my entire collection of Magic The Gathering cards now. I used to use individual 990 count boxes, but I quickly found it difficult to organize them. This box stores all sets (across multiple boxes) and I use jam pads to separate the sets. The box is sturdy for having to hold 5000 cards, as it gets really heavy when full. My biggest gripe with the box itself is that the dividers between the rows are folded over cardboard, and they don't seal at the bottom so cards can slide under if they end up down there. As for shipping, i'm very questioning on the shipping method. I know it's flat packed, but my box arrived in a 3'x4'x3' box. It was completely filled with packing peanuts, and at the bottom was this item, two lonely pieces of cardboard stapled together. Yes, stapled, as in with a staple gun. You've gotta be careful when taking it apart or you can damage the box, but that's it. I was more upset with the amount of packing peanuts and the size of the shipping container...

instructions for those that can't figure it out. came flattened in a giant box, to be expected since it's so large. easy to assemble and holds a massive amount of cards. bought this to house my collection because i was tired of having fat pack boxes stacked up everywhere.

Its good for what you get i just wanted something to put my magic the gathering cards in it doesnt come already pre set up for you and you have ot do it yourself and it can be kind of a pain in the ass to do and its not exactly helt together well? so you might want to also use some duct tape or packaging tape with it but over all it does exactly what i ant it to do hold my cards for me.

It's assembled pretty much the same as a legal box.
The row dividers have much to be desired, if you purchase this be sure to re-enforce it heavily with tape. Once it was all taped up it was pretty stable. |
