1.0 out of 5 stars very forgettable
I just gave this one more try...terrible. I'll prob never listen to it again. Can't believe it was rereleased....the only way you'll like this is if you are 15 and think you are gangsta. Buck's much better in moderation, not carrying the whole show.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buckshot the BDI Thug!!!, October 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The BDI Thug (Audio CD)
Buckshot has a rich history in Hip-Hop. From an artist standpoint he is the lead M.C. in "Blackmoon", the "Bootcamp Clik" and now as an artist under the name of "BDI Thug". The late great Tupac Shakur gave Buckshot the name BDI Thug when Buckshot worked on an album with him called "One Nation". This album allows Buckshot to explore another personality he posesses through pure lyrics. Buckshot the BDI Thug: Fall 1999.

4.0 out of 5 stars Different from BlackMoon. For diehard buckshot fans!, February 8, 2002
This review is from: The BDI Thug (Audio CD)
very different from BLACKMOON stuff.. First, the INTRO is dope... short and bangin... "FOLLOW WITH PRIDE" slow and creepy track... this is the stuff that BUCKSHOT works the best with...
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN" produced by Lord Jamar... another spooky and mellow, slow track... BUCK does another dope job.. "MY *****ES AND MY *****S" ... the beat is dope.. very upbeat.. this is a duet with some female emcee. I hated it at first but it grew on me.. it's still nothing amazing lyrically but the beat is very dope. "TRAPPED" produced by DJ AKSION is incredible.. This is a very, very old song but it still stands strong. "I feel like I'm trapped in the world of the rap.. I feel like I'm trapped".. It gets hypnotic.. and the beat is mad thick..
"TAKE IT TO THE STREETS" ---this is where it begins to suck... "Where my thugs?!?!?! T-H-U-G!.." Here, Buck spells the word "thug"... ugh! it's horrible. Half-A-Mill kicks the song ff. This track sucks. "I'LL BE DAMNED" f/ Swan... this is not that bad. Many people hate it. It has a very glossy beat and a thin bass line. The duet does work though. "I'll be damned if I don't become a millionare, I'll be damned..." This one grew on me.. "HEAVY WEIGHTERS"... produced by JUST BLAZE.. This is a dope ass track.. that features FT and SWAN.. It's very JUST BLAZE when it comes to the beat... Swan handles the hook "We heavy weighters / Crowd motivaters / in and out of states/ Benz and navigators...." BUCKSHOT truly gives a powerful verse that kicks the track off... dope! "GLIDE WITH ME"... this is DOPE!!!!! It's thick, smoked out hypnotic, spooky bassline and beat seriously glides and BUCK rides the track with a stoned out grace... one of the best tracks on the lp. "TAKE YOUR TIME" ...this sucks... Swan is on the track and some singer sings the hook.. "Take your time..." It's so commercial sounding. The verses are about partying and women... it's so lame and does not fit on the lp. "BREATH CONTROL".. this is DOPE!!!! Strong, pancake fat beat pounds away and BUCK just rips the mic.."What you really need is breath control..." One of the best tracks on the lp. "BOOM BYE BYE" f/Top Dog of OGC..the beat has an old school electro funk feel. IT chugs along and Top Dog handles the hook. "Boom bye bye to a sound bwoy head!.." Cool track. "FEEL IT".. horrible SWIZZ beat ripoff. "You can burn an l if your feeling this!"... It's so bad and the guests suck too.
"LAST WORDS" featuring SWAN is actually pretty cool. Swan handles the hook. "One n^gga teach two N^ggas and three teach four N^ggas and they teach mo' N^ggas..." Overall, the album has some dope moments but is weighed down by lame guests and some lame songs.. The best tracks are "Breath Control", "Follow With Pride", "Trapped", and "Glide With Me". The WORST tracks are: "Feel It", "Take It To The Streets", and "Take Your Time"

This is really for DIE HARD Duckdown fans.... BUCK seemed to have DUMB-downed his lyrics for this one... Most of the production is handled by MASTER BEATS which is somewhat his production company. It is cool to see an early JUST BLAZE track though.. DK AKSION on TRAPPED though... this is one dope track!!!! This is not for everybody and you can probably find it used on the net for under 5 bucks somewhere...Since I am a big DUCKDOWN fan, I like it and find myself listening to it often but do NOT expect BLACK MOON. I give it an 7.5 out of 10

Buckshot flows very hard and ninja like all over this cd. He clearly shows how versatile he is thoughout. Songs like: Breath Control, Follow With Pride, Ladies N Gentlemen,Trapped, and I'll Be Damned flow harder than anything out there. Other songs like: Boom Bye Bye, Take Your Time, and My B-tches & My N-ggas show a whole other side. Any true hip hop fan will love this cd. Cop it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buckshot is hot!, March 26, 2000
By
This review is from: The BDI Thug (Audio CD)
yo this is mad hot. I didn't know buckshot til my friend put me on. I heard Black moon, but I didn't put the two together. This CD is hot I am feeling "breath control" as one of the hottest tracks on it. i like buck because he is versatile, he can flow over rugged beatminerz tracks or he can flow on boogie brown tracks also. By the way i am a female.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well-known Hardcore hip-hoppas at it again- BCC/MFC/DuckDown, November 1, 1999
By
This review is from: The BDI Thug (Audio CD)
Yo hip-hop heads, Another album that is of the same quality that Duck Down has provided us with. I loved the two Black Moon records and have always been a Buckshot fan-- this is a lyrically tight album. He flows over nice beats- an album I can press play on Number One and just let it ride. "Boom Bye Bye" is my personal fav. Big up to Buckshot, Dru Ha, Heltah Skeltah, Boot Camp Clik, and The Representatives, OGC. Respect and Guidance Peace P-MACK

5.0 out of 5 stars Buckshot The BDI THUG is Hot!!!, October 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The BDI Thug (Audio CD)
BDI THUG is the tight as you can get. Buckshot is doing his solo thing. There are a few guess appearences from some new heads and they come tight. Buckshot lyrics are on point and his flow is a little different then what you are use to on some of the Black Moon stuff. But remember this is a The Bdi thug album not Black Moon . The beat selection is crazy!!! I mean they got some new unique sounds on this album, no doubt. Production by Baby Paul of the Beatminerz, Lord Jamal, Dj Arksun, and Master Beats(Buckshot, Mark Boogie Brown and Chris Ward). Its banging except for one track, track #10. If you dont like it the first time through play it again. This is BDI THUG not Black Moon. BCC/MFC/DD FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!
