Product works great. Only shortfall is there is no Lightscribe software, driver, manual, etc. that comes with the product. There is no mention of how this drive can be used with Lightscribe to burn images on top of the disc to label your disk. If you email DB Roth you will be sent several links to get what you need.

This is a great little DVD burner for anyone needing a drive for any functions concerning CDs and DVDs. I bought this one especially for setting up the newest Netbooks, which come without drives due to physical size limitations.

Using external drives and portable usb "thumb" drives is good for many applications and backup situations. But nothing beats having a DVD drive handy for original program or system installations. This unit is very compact, easily slipping into a notebook case along with the computer. Plus, it's quickly recognized by XP and Vista simply by plugging in.

It plays CDs and DVDs very well, and does a fairly quick job burning media too. For all these reasons, I would highly recommend this drive to anyone! I gave it a "five" star rating. On a 100% scale, I would rate it at least 95%.

I just needed a external dvd drive to install new version of windows or Ubuntu to my EEEpc and this is the must economical and logical way to go. I connected the external dvd to my PC and just worked, so buy this peoples

I bought a laptop that didn't have a cd drive of any kind. So I couldn't install most of the programs I had, and some of them were DVDs. So I got this, I writes and plays movies perfectly. Great product.

This item was purchased for a friend. She had a external drive before and she says that this was a much better product and easier to deal with.

This device works as advertised. I am also impressed at how easily it performs on my ASUS eeepc 1005HA. Good job!

Needed this for my Asus 10" To Load additional Soft goods, does the job .

1. I though the price was pretty steep.
2. It takes longer then I would have expected from a new driver to copy a CD into my itunes.

But it can do everything it said it can do, and dose it well, just a tad slower then I would have liked. I thought we were in the future already were everything goes at lightning speed, guess not.

It will do the job.. Works much slower then one on a desk top computer but thats okay. Had it for 3 months and use it on my netbook. It's perfect!

Did it work? No. Is it plug and play? No. Is it worth the money? No. I tried this on both of my computers and neither could recognize it. It is going in the trash can where it should have been in the first place. Look for one from a company that actually knows how to produce ones that work.
