4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute boots
These boots are very cute - I always get compliments on them. A few things to note, the fur lining is not throughout the boot, there's some at the top (of course), none on the calf, but then some for cushioning for your foot. Also, although many people said they run big and you should buy a smaller size, I'd have to disagree. I originally bought them a size smaller and...

These boots look great! The leather and fur are of excellent quality. I've owned these boots for a year now but have worn them only a handful of times. I recently pulled them out to wear this winter, and while I was out shopping I noticed that the sole was coming unglued from the leather on the side of the left boot.

I find them true to standard sizes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Boots for big feet and these actually work I LOVE EM ALREADY!!, November 20, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I spent days looking for boots and I finally settled on these with the assumption if they didn't fit I could send back and pay a restock fee and continue to look. I am NOT sending them back =) My problem is I have always had big feet and since my pregnancies I now have wide big feet with constant ingrown toe nails that make finding comfortable shoes almost impossible. I have bought size 11 shoes before but after doing several shoe sizers it seems I am actually a 11.5 possibly even a 12. I searched everywhere for a boot that I could wear for work plus had enough grip and warmth for our Idaho weather. On top of my requirements I am due to have my 3rd child in March and so needed something comfortable and definitely secure, loved the look of heals but knew I would hate them come month 9.

I ordered a pair of these in black as they were the only ones they had in size 11. Looked around on other sites and these were by far the cheapest for my possible size. When they came I tried them on and I will admit they were extremely tight but I figured it was because the sheepskin fur inside goes all the way down the boot. When I first put them on I could not do the top 2.5"s up but I waited about 20 mins and tried again as I could see the material would stretch around my calf (which at the very top of the boot is about 16.5", which is about 1.5" below the thickest part of my lower leg), they did do up, it seems the fur inside just had to flatten a little. The foot area still felt quite tight but loosened off very nicely but was still snug and secure. Several people commented on a sharp/pointy part at the inside ankle which I could feel for about the first 1hr of wearing them but it just disappeared so think it is just the material and I never even got so much as a red mark on my ankle.

I walked around in them, tried pushing my feet forward as normally this is a problem for me but they were very snug. If I pushed directly down on the toe I could feel the end of the shoe but walking and sitting I am about 1/2" away from the end. The toes are surprisingly spacey, especially for someone like me that gets aggravated toes if they get crushed. I have now worn them in the house for the last 4 hrs, have cooked dinner, cleaned up and dealt with a 3 and 2 yr old running back and forth threw the house and have not had any problems. They are super warm and so so so comfy!! The calf has already loosened up enough that I can get 4 fingers in at the top. I will mention I am wearing thing socks, which is what I planned on wearing anyway. They do feel so warm I don't think I would need thick socks anyway.

Another pointer I like is that my feet actually look small, well small for me. Some boots at this size can look like boats if they are thin at the ankle then the long foot but these are tight enough at the ankle to stop them sliding yet look much smaller then my other shoes. They are not at all heavy or bulky but do have a large amount of grip on the bottom, I have not been stopping around like I normally do in boots like this they are very easy to move my feet around and point my toes. They are still quite tight so I do wonder if I swell later in pregnancy they might get too snug but we will have to wait and see, I think by that point they will have relaxed a little more.

the only down side I could potentially see is that the zipper is a little flimsy, I could see it had already started bending but that could have been from pulling too much before the boot had relaxed

Sorry it's a book but this was info I was looking for when I was looking for boots like these.

These boots look great! The leather and fur are of excellent quality. I've owned these boots for a year now but have worn them only a handful of times. I recently pulled them out to wear this winter, and while I was out shopping I noticed that the sole was coming unglued from the leather on the side of the left boot.

Upon further inspection, I noticed that the sole was not properly nor evenly glued onto EITHER boot. There were many spots not glued at all that I could slide my finger into. Soooo I went around with a super glue pen and carefully filled in all the spots needing glue. Super glue doesn't last forever though, so I'm really disappointed with this discovery.

Also, the sole is hollow. While this makes the boot feel kind of neat and bouncy, be aware that something like a nail, sharp rock, or glass could definitely pierce the sole. From the picture the sole appears to be quite thick, but it's really just a rather thin outer shell of rubber that is filled with air.

If the sole were properly glued on, and more solid, these would be perfect. They're comfortable, warm, look good, and the leather & fur are great quality. The sole just kind of ruins them. I will not bother buying Bearpaws again because of this. Good quality leather & fur paired with a bad quality sole, just doesn't add up! It's a shame.

1.0 out of 5 stars EXTREMELY Small Calf on These Boots!, December 12, 2009
By

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I write this in hopes of helping women not to make the mistake that I did. I've been searching for months to replace some old dress boots and fell in love with these Pasador boots. I ordered two pairs and was excited when they arrived. They were absolutely beautiful and exactly what I had wanted. Keep in mind that I am a size 8 woman, exercise faithfully and keep myself trim. When I tried on the boots, I was saddened to find out that the calf area of these boots is very, very small. I was unable to zip them all the way up and ended up having to return them. My educated guess says that these boots would fit teenagers and petite women in their twenties. But, that's about it.
I also emailed the company to let them know that they are missing out on a huge market of women who would like to purchase their boots but, due to the constraints of the calf area, are unable to. Hopefully, they will listen and correct the problem. In the meantime, please don't order these boots for yourself or someone else unless you know for a fact that their calves are very small in diameter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bearpaw suede and rabbit fur boots, April 1, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These boots are a great product! I ordered my regular shoe size, and as long as I wear extra thick socks (which I do when the weather warrants these boots) they fit fine. The zipper on the inside of the calf is discrete, and makes getting the boots on simple. I love the height; it makes accidentally stepping into a snowdrift no big deal. I've worn them in snow, slush, and ice, and they give great style to an otherwise depressing northern Ohio climate. I've gotten compliments each time I wear them and inquiries about where I purchased them. Most of all, they keep my feet nice and toasty with the suede, sheepskin, and rabbit fur combination of materials. I am resigned that outdoor all-weather boots won't look great for long, so I didn't treat them with any protective material. As result, there are some stains on the boots, but it's due to my treking around, not a product deficiency. You won't be sorry if you purchase these!

1.0 out of 5 stars Broken Zipper, January 11, 2010
These Boots are very cute, but yes hard to zip, and when I pulled on the zipper to try to zip them the zipper broke in half. Now my boots are worthless because my zipper is broken.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very tight on your calves!, January 3, 2010
I don't have particularly large calves; however, I really have to work to zip these boots up all the way! The laces are just for show, so do not influence the circumference of the boot. I can zip them, but then have a crease where they squeezed my skin. Otherwise, I would have given them 5 stars as they are comfortable and keep your feet warm!

3.0 out of 5 stars adorable but......, January 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These boots are adorable and they run true to size BUT you have to have really, really small calves to zip them up. I do not have fat legs but i couldn't get them zipped all the way. I was really sad when i had to return them because other then that i loved them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Loved them, but lining killed my right ankle, January 2, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are great boots, wonderfully warm and snuggly, and comfortable. I loved trekking around DC in them in the winter. However, after one day of wear, I noticed my right ankle hurting. By the 2nd day, and many bandaids later....I couldn't wear them anymore. The top of the lining on the right side was rubbing the bottom of my ankle bone, and it really hurt. I ended up sending them back. What a shame. Maybe it's just my ankle. I do have kind of bony feet.....Also, what all the other reviews said is true, if you have big calves, they are hard to zip up. My calves are bordering on muscular, and it was pretty hard to get them up at the top. However, with leggings or tights, it would be a breeze.

Good luck!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bearpaw Womens Suede and Rabit Fur Boots, January 8, 2008

I bought this for my daughter and she loves them. They are comfortable, trendy, as well as warm. The only problem was she has muscular legs and about an inch of boot would not zip up so she had to wear them initally to stretch them out so she could tuck in her pants. I highly recommend these boots.
