Bed Stu Bunker Hill,
This review is from: BED:STU Men's Bunker Hill Boot (Apparel)
You'll love these, if you know what to expect. Bed Stu uses old-fashioned, high-quality techniques and materials----esp. in the sole. This means a double-stitched Goodyear welt and a leather & wood sole, which is very sturdy but is also stiff and hard and very slippery (esp. on carpet). For me the quality and workmanship (and a great price) are what's important, but if you need a soft shoe that absorbs impact then this might not be your best pick.
Also, many Bed Stu boots like this run about a full size large, so I'd recommend getting one size smaller than usual. I got the black "scratch" look, which is weathered and pretty cool. They look great with jeans.

I just want to write that these boots are worth every penny in quality the price suggests. They are truly hand made and reflect that in material and quality. They haven't been broken in yet so I don't know how they will feel after wearing them for a couple of months.
My only problem with them is an issue of the hand made quality. The heel is nailed on and as such some of the nails were not hammered in all the way. Before I knew it, I had scratched a couple of gouges in my wood floor. Easily remedied by tapping them in a little further. I wish they still made more shoes this way.

Comfort okay. Had to buy inserts. Knew that though. They're cool, hip, rugged lesser version of the Bragg and Crecy, I think. But I needed a slip on - was getting tired of laces and buckles.
