This program has excellent exercises that stimulate creative writing for anyone who wants to write. I use the first volumes because they have a unit for fiction writing.

I need Being a Writer for SECOND grade. I LOVE this program but I'm teaching at a different school next year and they don't use it. Does anyone have it????
I currently work at a huge school with 8 classes per grade level. All my third-grade colleagues love this program, too. If you're thinking about trying it, DO, but if you want to follow it to the letter, cross your fingers that you can find all the mentor texts in your school or local library.
