Friedhofer's Academy Award winning score for this classic slice of Americana is, simply put, one of the finest ever composed for a Hollywood film. The recording, despite some faults in the mastering (too much treble), is the closest that we will ever come to capturing which is surely a masterwork.

I loved the movie and always thought the theme music perfectly matched the emotions in this film. Unlike some movie soundtrack CD's that seem to have different, unidentified songs and melodies, I think this CD closely captures the soundtrack from the movie.
