This review is from: The BEYONDERS (Paperback)
"The Beyonders" come from another dimension and plan to rule the earth with the help of bribed locals in this novel by Manly Wade Wellman. As in many of his later works, the setting is in the Carolinas, an area he knew well. This could be a John the Balladeer novel had the main character been just passing through instead of planning to stay in the small town. The main weakness in the novel is not having a strong villain fronting for the invaders. In the end the humans have pity for the invaders, beings who cannot survive the earth's atmosphere without protective covering yet have the need to come anyway, just as earth's astronauts must explore the moon and beyond.
