Product Description

The BFP brand of pregnancy test (short for "big fat positive") was designed by Fairhaven Health exclusively for the trying-to-conceive (TTC) community. Manufactured right here in the United States, the BFP Pregnancy Test Strip provides you with all the features TTC women care about in a pregnancy test: early detection, accuracy, ease of use, and affordability. Pregnancy test strips, unlike midstream pregnancy tests, are dipped into a sample of collected urine instead of being held directly in the urine stream. It is the same format of test used in doctor's offices. Test strips are particularly popular in the trying-to-conceive community because they provide the same early detection and accuracy as a midstream test, but at a much lower price point - perfect for your compulsive tester! Early Detection: When you're actively trying to conceive, odds are you're ready to begin testing as soon as possible. With the BFP Pregnancy Test Strip, sensitive to just 20 miu/ml hcg, you're able to begin testing as early as four days before your missed period. Accuracy: False negatives and ambiguous test lines are enough to drive anyone crazy, much less someone who is actively trying to conceive. Fortunately, the BFP Pregnancy Test Strip boasts an extremely high accuracy rate - in excess of 99%. That provides you with the confidence of knowing that the results you receive reflect the true status of the hcg content of your urine. Ease of Use: Taking a pregnancy test shouldn't be like conducting a PhD level home chemistry experiment, and with the "one step" BFP Pregnancy Test Strip, it's not. Simply dip the test strip in collected urine (a Dixie cup works just fine) and lay the test on a flat surface. Within just a couple of minutes, your results will appear: one line = negative; two lines = (big fat!) positive! Affordability: Frequent pregnancy testing is a hallmark of the TTC experience, and with the BFP Pregnancy Test Strip, you can "pee on a stick" as often as you like!

I received 5 of these test strips free with my order, and even ordered 5 extra just in case. I'm the type of person who always wants to test as soon as possible and as often as I can. I decided to try one of these test a few days before my period was due. I didn't properly read the directions and assumed I wasn't pregnant because I immediately saw the test line and nothing under it. I tested again 2 days later and this time waited about a minute after and saw a faint line. I wasn't sure if that was correct because the line was so faint, so I emailed the company and they instructed me to check with a doctor but a line should mean pregnancy. I retested a few days later and the line continued to get darker. Anyhow, I used to spend a lot of $$ of pregnancy tests but there is no need, they are all the same.
A few tips:
You need something to collect your urine in, because you have to dip the stick
Wait after you test to see the real result, the test line shows up immediately
If there is a line, even a faint line, you are probably pregnant (I tested a week later, just to see how dark the line would be, and it's not as dark as the test line)
Good luck!

So I knew my husband and I were going to start TTC in a few months so I purchased 10, knowing it might take a few months, well the first month, I used 5 and never saw a faint line, nothing! Needless to say I wasn't pregnant, so the second month at 9DPO I decided to test and I got a positive, a very faint line but even my husband couldn't deny it was there. As one reviewer stated if you can handle a faint line they are awesome. Also I agree with another user who had her husband try one and got no line at all!! That is when I knew, but was still skeptical so I tested again the next day and again another line, a little darker.
I then tested at about 13DPO and got a definitly darker line.
What I like about these is they worked SO EARLY and I didn't feel bad testing a million times including allowing my husband to "waste" one because they were so cheap.
I highly recommend these, quit spending your money on all the store bought ones. As for the inconvenienc of peeing in a cup, I have to say if you are going to have a baby and are going to change those diapers, is it that bad to put your own pee in a cup?
Best of luck to everyone trying to Pregnant!!

I bought these strips along with 2 other types of early home pregnancy tests. These tests kept saying Negative...yet every other test said positive! No matter how far along I am in my pregnancy. I am now 7 weeks and blood tests, urine tests and ultrasounds all confirm I am pregnant except these strips! Do NOT waste your money!!!

My husband and I have been trying to get preggo. A few months ago, I went through 16 expensive tests--Clear Blue, First Response, and store-brand (but expensive, nonetheless). My friend recommended that I get these cheaper tests through Amazon and I'm so glad I did, as it looks like I will continue to have to use them for awhile until we get pregnant.

Now, I'm the kind of person who starts testing immediately after ovulating in hopes that wishing alone will make that second line appear. I have no patience whatsoever, so rather than waste hundreds of dollars on tests that I'm taking twice a day all month long, I feel better using these cheaper tests.

- Each of these tests comes in its own little sealed pouch. It's not like at the doctor's office where they pull these strips out of a big container containing 100 of these strips. Nope...each strip is sealed to itself.

- I dip the strip into a little cup of pee every morning (and afternoon, and sometimes night, too...just to see). You hold the stick in there for a few seconds (instructions are on each package, so you don't have to remember every time), then lay it flat and watch. I mean patiently wait.

- First Response and other tests that come in a box might have three tests per box. If you throw away the box, you usually throw away the instructions with it. So, if you're trying to be discrete about your testing habit, you don't leave boxes and instruction sheets laying around the bathroom just in case someone comes over unexpectedly to visit and wants to talk about it. So, without the box or the instructions, it can be hard to remember how to do those tests...Do I dip the stick for 3 seconds or 5? Do I wait 3 minutes to check for the line or 10?

These are advertised as early-detection tests.... but they definitely don't work that way. I used them from 11 dpo along with a First Response Early Result, Target Early Result and Devon Medical. Both FRER and Target tests picked up on 11 dpo, and Devon from 12, but these tests are only now starting to show more than the absolute faintest of lines at 15 dpo. Would not recommend.
They should not be sold as 'early detection'
