5.0 out of 5 stars heel cocculus Compositum is magic
I suffer from occasional flareups of a bizarre condition called Menieres disease. Menieres makes you dizzy. The doctors have no guaranteed cure though they are happy to spend thousands of dollars on treatments and surguries that don't work. I heard about cocculus Compositum on a well know menieres website. It is one of about 8 *vitamins* used in a homeopathic regimen...

1.0 out of 5 stars homeopathic, not herbal
I didn't look at the tiny, blurry type on the picture of the bottle. It says "Homeopathic Medication." I read the description and skimmed the first three reviews but didn't realize that this "medicine" is homeopathic. In other words, it has no active ingredients. It's an expensive placebo. If you believe in homeopathy, then you will have whatever success a placebo will...

It is one of about 8 *vitamins* used in a homeopathic regimen known as *the john from ohio Menieres regimen*. Since I started using those vitamins a few months ago, my symptoms have lessened dramatically. If I do have a dizzy spell, I take a couple of these cocculus Compositum (also known as vertigo heel) and put them under my tongue until they dissolve. My dizzy spell goes away, or is at least minimized so I can go about my business. My doctor can give me pills as well, but his prescription medicines make me sleepy. These pills are a life changer and I carry them always. They have no side effects. I've used them 500 feet up in the air on a cliff in Yosemite, on my bicycle and at my desk. Good stuff!

This is the only non-prescription formula that has helped with my vertigo from Meniere's disease. It doesn't make you sleepy which was a big plus for me. It is, however, short acting--maybe 2-3 hours duration. The same formula in liquid did not work the same for me. The tablets were best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cocculus Compositum brings relief to vertigo symptoms!, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Cocculus Compostium, 100 Tablets (Health and Beauty)
I was given the tip from my Dr. to try this product, and it really helps!

If taken twice daily (once in the morning, and again before bedtime) most vertigo symptoms are relieved!

I have Meniers Disease and suffer from dizzy spells, some so strong that I lose my balance completely and fall down. Since I have started using this, I have had only a few mild dizzy spells. I take one whenever I start feeling dizzy and whenever I am going out. They have no side effects.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked well for my meniere's attacks, April 25, 2010

I was diagnosed with meniere's disease 11 years ago and have used many products for this illness. I have found that for me homeopathic remedies have worked much better than the prescriptions that were given to me by my MD. Although some remedies did not work for me(I am also under the care of a ND-Homeopathic Dr) the Heel Cocculus worked well but had to increase the dosage to 3 at the beginning of the attack and continue with 1 pill every 15 minutes until relief was felt. Might not help everyone but after 11 years and maybe 5 or 6 bad attacks, I had 5 in 7 weeks. No sooner could I get out of the bed or chair and begin to feel somewhat normal, another full blown attack would hit again. It's been about a month now, 1 bottle later and still on my feet.I don't know what tomorrow will be like but I have several bottles on my shelf just in case.I would recommend to anyone who has this disease to give this a try.

4.0 out of 5 stars It seems to work for me, December 1, 2008
I have bilateral Meniere's Disease with rotational vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss. After several episodes of vertigo accompanied by VIOLENT vomiting, I tried this product. Since I've been taking it, I've been able to avoid the vomiting, though not the vertigo. As soon as I feel the "whirlies" coming on, I put one of these under my tongue, followed by 1 or 2 more after it dissolves, until I'm sure I'm not going to vomit. Then I take Ativan, which is what my doc prescribed for the vertigo. It's made a huge difference! Before I had this product, I'd take the Ativan, then vomit within 5 or 10 minutes, so the Ativan never had a chance to work. My vertigo episodes now last from 1 to 3 hours, instead of 4 to 6.

5.0 out of 5 stars this stuff really does help vertigo, June 21, 2008
This review is from: Cocculus Compostium, 100 Tablets (Health and Beauty)
I bought this stuff somewhat reluctantly but desperate for something to help with a bout of Meniere's that wouldn't make me sleepy. It takes several of them but they really do help. Not a miracle, but helpful with zero side effects. The company ships is promptly also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product, November 6, 2007

My husband started taking this about three weeks ago after his Meniere's symptoms returned. He had not had an episode for almost six years and then for about two months had several mild episode a week. He started a food elimination process, but it didn't seem to help until he got this product. No spells for three full weeks and his energy seems back to normal. He is still off of dairy, but back on wheat. Will try to add the dairy back soon and see what happens, but I really think it was the Cocculus! Very pleased.
