BIA Classic White Butter Dish with Cover

I recently gave a wedding shower for 25 people and wanted to put butter on each of three tables. Alas, my butter dishes were broken, chipped or etched by the dishwasher, all unsightly. I didn't want to spend a lot on butter dishes that would be used only rarely, so the BIA butter dish perfectly suited the occasion. They are a bit heavier and kind of chunkier than I expected but the price is very appropriate and the appearance is sufficient. The design is clean and simple so the dish looks at home with all of my sets of dishes. The larger mass of the item tends to help keep the butter cool longer so that is actually a plus in Minnesota in July.

I don't know why it's so hard to find a butter dish these days where the lid fits the butter cube without smashing it, but finally this one does. As other reviewers note, it is a heavy dish, but I like it. Might not be good for an elderly person (my mom hates it, says its too heavy to pick up).
And it's dishwasher safe.

This was heavier than I expect, but I really like it. There is a ridge on the dish itself that keeps the top from slipping around. The dish isn't so deep that I have any trouble getting the butter out. It seems like I had trouble finding a good butter dish. This fit the bill.

Wow. This butter dish is substantial. It is bigger and heavier than I thought it would be and it looks great. Cleans great in dishwasher. Would highly recommend.

I don't know if the butter in California is a different size than elsewhere, but this dish isn't big enough to hold a 1/4 lb. stick of butter without getting butter all over the inside of the lid. It is subtantial in terms of the way it is made and the appearance is simplicity defined.

Big and bold and holds a stick of butter nicely - what more can one say? Look to be strong enough to last a long time.

This is just a great old fashioned butter dish that is a great addition to any kitchen. Sturdy and shiny white ceramic. Great stuff.

My husband has just discovered the joy of real butter. Previously, he had put butter in a small bowl to keep it at room termperature. As sad as it sounds, I bought this dish for him for Christmas. It's not only functional, but pretty enough to be kept on the table, if desired. It is a nicely constructed piece and will last a long time.
