This is a great product---I was really impressed with the ease with which one could customise it. The templates were superb. I was able to create a business site in an evening. The only downside to the product is that you are FORCED to host your site with the owners of the product. I had a website before I bought the product, and I wasn't ready to have two different websites. If you don't have a business site and you are ready to host your site with the owner of the program, this is probably the best product there is. However, if you are trying to upgrade an existing site with ecommerce capabilities, this might not be suitable for you--unless of course you are ready to pay for two sites at the same time.

1) I really like the way E-merchantpro has been designed so that you build the site through Microsoft Internet Explorer. I have worked on my web site from three different computers (my notebook PC, my desktop PC and my son's desktop PC). My daughter (who lives in another state) also worked on the site. Additionally, I don't have to worry about back-up or support of the web-site like you would have to do if you constructed it on your computer and uploaded it to your Host System.

2) The navigation links along the left side of each web page makes it very easy to navigate your web site and actually makes it easier to layout and construct a web site with good organization vs a poorly laid out site with criss-crossing links. The way sub-page links are exposed as you 'drill-down' through the pages makes for a cleaner design which exposes the additional pages when they are needed.

3) The editor is great! All pages are shown on one list and the page order, sub-pages and names can be changed easily (I have changed my many times to get to a layout and flow that I like). The editor is easy to use and alows an HTML view so you can add some advanced features, such as the tables I added.

4) I looked at a lot of e-commerce packages and picked this one because emerchantpro provides features that allow me to run my business. Constructing the site is only a small part of the business cycle. Actually running it day to day and growing the business is the most important part. I think this package will let me do that best! All the e-commerce software I looked at advertised an easy to construct e-commerce site, but this package included inventory management, reporting, chat, forum and commumications capabilities like the telemarketing that set it apart from the rest.

I've used eMerchantPro for about 18 months. The product is simple to use and quickly produces a professional looking website. The shopping cart works really well. The inventory and order notification works great. I have been pretty satisfied. However, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!!! If you have a technical problem or a question- you are on your own. They don't reply to emails and you will sit on hold until you give up. Don't try to copy any strange graphics or links (eg hit counters, links to Amazon, etc) into one of your webpages or it will lock up everything and you won't be able to edit your pages.

After plenty of consideration, I decided to try and build my website myself. Luckily, eMERCHANT pro came to my rescue! Here is why:

Wizards: All I had to do was click my way through some "wizard screens", and pick from one of the template designs, and my website was created. eMERCHANT pro is really a comfortable product - I wasn't scared to click my way through it.

Updates and Site Changes are Easy:Now that I have my website, I add pages and update my clothing descriptions almost everyday so I can broadcast my lastest... and whenever I make a change in eMERCHANT pro, my website is updated automatically. This is great because it is hassle free.

Multimedia Help is Really Neat: eMERCHANT pro came with a CD that walked me through the main features and steps needed to create my website. This CD, coupled with the manual, the help online, and the easy-to-use screens were all bonuses for me since I am not really "highly technical".

Setting Up Payment was Effortless: Again, Wizards helped me set up how my customers would pay for and receive the items they wanted to buy. I even get an email message at home everytime someone buys something from my website - it keeps me organized - and if anyone else's business is as busy to manage as mine, you will really appreciate these organization helpers! Which brings me to my last point...

Reports:I can report on my customers, the things they are buying the most, the dates they buy from my site and even what time of day they are visiting. Plus, I can run reports on how many sales I make and tons of other sales criteria. "Telemarketing": This is a special feature in EMERCHANT PRO. At first, I couldn't believe it was real, but now I use this feature to chat with my web customers, tell them about me and my company, and get feedback on my clothing and on my website.

What I also found comforting was the money back guarantee - I have had no reason to return it though! I highly recommend it!

The emerchant software made it so simple for us to put together a spectacular site and we have received so many compliments on it already. We were up and running quickly and I HAVE NO TRAINING IN WEB SITE DESIGN. It's nothing less than amazing.

It is supposed to be easy, they say. I read the other reviews here and they make it sound pretty simple (even though they sounded a lot like marketing brochures), so I make the jump... and end up knee-deep in a mess. First off, I want to keep using my netscape browser: NO, I am told, you must use ONLY the Microsoft browser. next, I want to use my new imac I got from the kids: NO, I am told, you must use ONLY a windows computer. So fine, I install microsfot's internet explorer on my windows computer... 14 hours later, I am STILL trying to figure out how this product even works! Enough is enough, back in the box it goes.

As a small business owner, emerchant provided my home based business a great solution for getting me on the Web. Not knowing anything about programming a Web site, I really appreciated the intuitive wizard driven setup, and was nicely surprised to discover how easy it was to change things on the fly, even for me. Unlike some other products I looked at emerchant seemed to offer more features which was important as I did not want to buy a bunch of different software packages. I had a little difficulty finding a "theme" (look and feel) that suited my business, but was able personalize my site enough that I am very happy with it. The best thing about emerchant pro is that I can update my site, everyday all by myself. It also comes with a features called "telemarketing" which lets me talk to people on my Web site when they are visiting it. I have not had a good chance to use it yet but it's looks like a cool feature that I have not even seen on big sites yet. Overall I am pleased with my purchase, the product is good and the price is great.

I'm in the process of setting up my business on ecommerce. I've looked at a lot of software and services so far, but I think I will go with the emercant after seeing it in action. I went to a few sites that use emerchant, and they worked exactly like how i want my site to be. The pricing and renewals are reasonable, and product has better features that lots in its category.

Once you are hooked by the 'quick, inexpensive' way to get a website, you will find it neither quick nor inexpensive. They take control over your credit card, and your site. You must host through them. The come-on price changes drastically after you have signed on, and the promised free first 30 days is free becuase they make sure they don't get you up and running till at least 31 days after the start date. You can leave messages, ask questions, email "coaches", and they take their sweet time answering, or even getting back to you. THis company has no integrety. If anyone hears of any action taken against them, please notify me. They prey on the hopes of people already in debt.

I purchased the program based on the information available on the box and the information I could find at the time on the internet. Nothing is stated that you have to use their service to host and you are stuck with monthly fees. This is only available when you open the box and discover you paid a lot for something you have to continue to pay for. Sort of like that gates fellow does only worse. lol. I was not happy with this mandatory hosting fee and consider it very misleading on the surface. I see that many people quote happiness with the easibility but I would not even venture further after discovering the additional money I must pay in order for the software to perform. Not a good advertising ploy but possibly effective if you figure in the statistics of it all. Looking at the reviews it does seem to work for some people.
