From Library Journal
Although he was not a good enough player to rate mention in John D. McCallum's register Big 8 Football (1979, o.p.), Mills played defensive tackle for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers football team from 1971-76. Now a realty broker--having declined to pursue a professional career in football upon graduation--he looks back on his college football years with frank comments on the demands of big-time athletics. He tells of demanding coaches, rigorous training, injuries, and how they imposed upon his classwork. Along with basketball player Steve Alford's Playing for Knight ( LJ 11/1/89), this is a good choice for libraries serving athletes and their parents.
