This review is from: BING CROSBY WITH ELLA FITZGERALD (Audio CD)
At the time of this review, only Bing Crosby & Ella Fitzgerald are given credit for this CD.
What a pity. Bing & Ella were singing here as professionals respecting each other and nothing much else. It's a coldly professional albeit excellent music that you get as a result. Not bad, it's just that Jazz is not supposed to be that way.
What it doesn't indicate at all is that the second CD is all about Bing & Peggy Lee and here are two singers having a heluva time and you get zapped wuth pure enjoyment by the electricity they make and the sparks they let fly.
For me, I have only one favourite music person, and that is Ella Fitzgerald. Bing belongs to the 2nd tier, and Peggy perhaps in the 4th or 5th. But it is more honest to say that in this particular CD, Bing and Peggy comes ahead of my favorite.
