Purchased this item the same time the Nikon D5200 was ordered. Being an event photographer, its important to have a hand strap to hold your camera especially when you do not want your hand to cramp up from trying to grip it all the time while taking shots for a couple hours on end. This strap is comfortable and well made. However, it is NOT designed for the D5200.

The difference is that there is a tab that the edge of the camera is suppose to be a guide to keep the hand strap even with the base of the camera. The D5200 has the mount screw further in from the edge of the camera for some reason and therefore the tab is in the way. Broke off the tab, problem solved. Yes, the grip does move around a bit, however its still very comfortable and the knob can be tighten down very securely so the camera does not fall out of your hands.

Im not a fan of neck straps. When I use my DSLR its for hours, and a neck strap just causes me days of neck cramps.

This hand strap is nice and very comfortable. It also works with an additional battery pack attached to the bottom of my DSLR which is nice (I did have to remove a little plastic tab on the bas of the grip to make it work, but this did not effect the function at all, and you cannot tell that I did it).

I did receive a faulty grip strap first. The threads were messed up in the base (you could tell this was something that happened at the factory because the coating on the threads had not been damaged). I contacted the seller, and they was terrific to work with. Shipped out another strap immediately, and when I say immediately I mean they answered my email within 20 minutes and had another grip strap with tracking information on its way before I woke up the next day. I was/am very happy with this seller.
The new grip was perfect.

I would recommend this grip strap to anyone who doesn't like the neck straps, but still wants feel that their camera is secure.
I would highly recommend the seller.

WARNING: This is NOT compatible with the Fujifilm X100S! Although it "fits" the camera fine, when I put my hands through the strap I cannot reach the camera shutter button without twisting my arm and doing all sorts of movements with my hands and fingers that only a contortionist would be able to pull off!

I doubt if this will be a good fit for other mirrorless cameras with smaller bodies... I think this is only meant for larger/bulkier DSLRs... So please don't go by the product description that the seller has posted. Clearly the seller only saw that it "fits" with the X100S, so he decided to list it as a compatible product. But just because something "fits" doesn't mean that it works well...

Overall I like the product. Pretty straightforward and easy to use. You can actually get the factory neckstrap and wristrap through the same spot on that side of the camera if you want to (I only use the wristrap). Only issue is for quick shots you really still have to get your hand on the inside of the wristrap. If you had it just sitting by itself and grabbed it for a quick shot. Trying to wrap your hand around the outside of it to take a quick shot is too bulky, you don't have a secure grip on the camera, controls are kind of out of reach, etc. May not be an issue if you have a large hand or long fingers. Otherwise it's great and highly recommend.

Does NOT fit a canon 1D Mark IV as advertised with the bottom plastic part. It does however fit and work just fine IF you take that off and just put the straps through the neck strap anchors. It is rubber on the inside, so it doesn't slip, however that also makes it hard to slip your hand in using only one hand. It is padded and comfortable. If you work the adjustement buckle down into the cover it doesn't work it's was loose with time.

Excellent product for the price. Fast shipping. Gives me the feeling of extra security when shooting images. I do lots of hiking and purchased a quick release bracket to carry my camera on my belt. I found that I was not comfortable just holding the camera with no strap. This hand strap fits the bill.

Purchased this strap for my Canon 7D and I'll say that you get what you pay for. Its not bad by any means, just a few inconveniences.
Its very comfortable and easy to attach and use. my biggest gripes are that it makes it difficult; but not impossible, to reach a lot of your dials and buttons. This could be true of any hand strap though?? The biggest problem though, and I actually might have reconsidered the purchase had I known this before hand, it blocks the battery cover, meaning you have to unscrew this from the bottom of your camera every time you need to change batteries. A pain, but for the cost I think this will do the job.

I really like this hand strap. My old neck strap took up too much room in my camera bag. This is a great alternative. The underside (the part that contacts the back of your hand) is rubberized so it doesn't slide around. The strap is adjustable (and long enough to fit very big hands, but can still tighten down for small hands.

I use this on my Canon T3i. The memory card slot is accessible easily, and to get to the battery compartment you can just slightly unscrew the bottom part and rotate it to uncover the battery compartment cover.

I bought a holster (Case Logic SLRC-201) that I like a lot, but standard shoulder straps become a nuisance with this type of camera bag. I switched to this hand strap to replace the shoulder strap. The hand strap appears to be very secure with the bottom mount. It also fits well in the holster. I haven't had any real issues reaching the buttons, but I understand some of the complaints about this. It is a tight fit but considering the price of the camera and lens, this is not really a bad thing. It also helps with keeping your grip steady.
