I'd been searching for an upright for months. Since I just moved into a small apartment with carpet (after living only with hardwood floors), I needed a cleaner with a motorized brush. I went through three other uprights before settling on this one. Two of the others were great but too large and pricey. The next cleaner I got was a Eureka Boss Lite. It was so noisy my ears rang after vacuuming the whole apartment. I returned it after just one use. The Bissell Powerglide Plus is ideal for small places: easy to push, VERY light, small, and QUIET!!! If you're on a budget (and even if you're not), you can't beat the value of this vacuum.

I was unsure of which vacuum to buy as there are so many in the $60-100 range. I decided on this particular one because it got such a great review, and also because other Bissel models seemed to have positive comments about their performance. When I finally got this one and plugged it in, I was amazed at how powerful the suction on it is. My area rug looked like it had just come back from the cleaners by the time I was finished!! Also, it almost feels like I'm controlling a motorcycle because it has some self-propelling feature that makes it feel like it's got a mind of its own and is ready to get the job done! Needless to say, I won't be getting a sore back from pushing this around! The other great features are: easy to change the bag, lightwieght, quiet, dissasembles to fit in a smaller box, and a sub-micron filter which actually filters the exhaust air so you aren't blowing dusty air around while you're vacuuming. Overall it is a great buy and I would definately recommend it for someone like me who lives in an apartment in NYC!

Quite simply, I really like this vacuum. This was an upgrade from an older model Singer vacuum containing only 6.8 amps & was barely able to suck up crumbs. The Bissell in this review has 12 amps and like the previous reviewers mentioned, is a powerful machine that really makes one's carpets look clean when finished. The extra long cord was an extra bonus. That and the fact that the tools attach to the vacuum & everything stores nice & tidily together. Excellent vacuum at a terrific price!

I can't find bags!

Simply put, this vacuum is great. Extra long power cord, many different height settings. The only problem is finding bags.
