This is the Bissell to buy!,

I was going to buy the 3594 but then I called Bissell to see if there was a vacuum like it but cheaper then $129. They said that this one is the same exactly except it has an older color (heck I like the dark blue much better then the light blue) and it does not have the clean carpet sensor. This model comes with a second Hepa Media Filter for free. So it's the same model for $30 less and it comes with a $15 filter for free! I ordered it right away. Before I used it I vacuumed the carpet with my new Eureka, which is a Panasonic vac. Then I vacuumed with the Bissell 35933 and I looked in the bag less canister and wa la there was a lot of filth in there. Proving that the Bissell does a much better job then my 2003 model Eureka. Then I tried the bare floor setting, on my kitchen and living room, which are all tile floors, and it worked amazingly well. I was on a role so I cleaned out my couch with the turbo brush and the crevice tool in-between the cushions and for the first time ever in a vacuum the hose was long enough to reach the entire couch without moving the vacuum! I liked that a lot. Bissell said I only need to change the Hepa filter once a year and I can dust it off if it looks dirty before that. The other three filters are all washable and will last a long time if you keep them clean once a month. I thought the canister would blow dirt around but it does not at all. The dirt, pet hair, parrot dust all stays in the canister. I empty it after each use but you do not need to. I just like to see what my vacy did. This is one very good machine with excellent features at a remarkable price. Oh I also love the 35' cord. I can reach my entire 1,500 S.F. house with the cord plugged in the middle of my house. Bonus! I am very pleased with my purchase and feel that I got a lot of product for the price. Highly recommended!

Great Value-Best Mix of Features for the Money,

I researched a lot of uprights before deciding on this one. Basically, this vacuum is identical to the deluxe model with the exception of the clean/dirty sensor and this seemed to be the best value. For $10 more than the base model, you get an extra 5 feet of cord and the turbo brush attachment. That sensor will cost you 30% and it wasn't really worth it to me. I looked this one over at several department stores before ordering it from Amazon. Compared to my old Dirt Devil Vision, it seems to be of slightly better quality. The dirt cup is definitely easier to empty than on the Dirt Devil because of the filter in the Dirt Devil that had to be tapped clean. Two of the 3 filters in the Bissell can be washed. This vacuum easily sucks up as much dirt or more than the Dirt Devil as well as the corresponding amount of carpet fibers and is very quiet. The beater brush on the Dirt Devil was definitely of lesser quality and the latch that locks it upright wound up cracking so that it would fall over and it could not be repaired. The Bissell's clear plastic view of the beater brush is definitely a plus so you don't have to roll the vac over to check its condition. All in all I am very pleased with this vacuum for the money. I just couldn't justify 4 times as much for a Dyson. Is it 4 times as good??? I think not, and if I felt compelled to keep it four times longer than this Bissell, who knows where vacuums will have progressed by then.

Simply Love this,

Thanks to all the previous review, I bought this product and simply love it. I had a cleaning lady clean my house on Saturday with my Old bagged vaccum and it was looking clean. This thing arrived on Tuesday and was up and ready to vaccum in 10 minutes flat with all the instructions read from the manual.Just out of curiosity I vaccumed my entertainment room half to notice the difference in color of the carpet, then noticed the dust container to find so much of dirt in there that had to clean it to proceed to next half of the room. The hand tool is also great for upholestry and small rugs etc. Only issue I found is that the hose hook in the back of the vaccum is a bit bigger or the weight of the hose is more, it keeps fallling off from the hook causing some irritation The issue other people raised on emptying the container is just baseless. You just take out the container near a trash can, empty it out with the trash can's lid on and then rinse it with water for few seconds and its absolutely clean.

I just purchased this vacuum and I am thoroughly impressed with it! Don't let the price tag fool you, you get a lot of bang for your buck with this product. The first thing I noticed about it is the clear hoses. No guessing if it's clogged! Just take a look and see. There is also a clear window to view the roller from the top so you can see if there is something wound around it.I was suprised at how lightweight this vacuum is. Very easy to push. The turbobrush is also a real plus. I used it to clean cat hair from my black cat off a gold colored pet bed. It came of with no effort at all. Amazing! I have a very high pile carpet and I have a hard time keeping it looking new. This vacuum really make it look fluffy and new. I couldn't belive it! My 3 yr old Fhantom couldn't keep up with this carpet. I couldn't be happier with this vacuum.

This thing rocks. I have always been a fan of the Kirby. Years ago I bought my Generation 3 Kirby and have loved it. Well, nothing was wrong with the Kirby, but after buying a Bissel Steam Cleaner a few days ago I decided I wanted a new Vac. The Price was good, definately better than a Kirby. So now on to how well it performs. Put a new bag in the Kirby and used it thoroughly over the entire carpet to the point that I knew it was clean. Then I got the Bissel after the same job. Before I was done with the first room I was emptying the cup. This vac really sucks. Not only that, but it actually raised the nap on the carpet. After using this vav and the Bissel Steam Cleaner it looks like I have new carpet! I'm sold. There is no way it's going back, and the Kirby is in the garage. Anyway, that's my $.02 Till all are one.

My old Eureka Bravo 2 vacuum died a week or so ago, and I got a Bissell Cleanview Powertrak yesterday as a replacement. Just for testing, I vacuumed the living room with my portable Shark rig, and then followed by vacuuming the same area with the Bissell. Quite a bit of dust came up and that encouraged me to do the entire house. Some of the pros were 1. It moves very easily, and comes with a handle if you need to pick it up and carry it 2. Clip on the handle that holds the cord for you while you are vacuuming. You still need to manually extend and retract the cord, but it is easier to vacuum if you do not need to hold the cord in one hand to control it. 3. Built-in light - makes it easy to see the dirt in dark areas 4. Power - 12AMP motor totally obliterates the 7.2 AMP Eureka. 5. Cup - much easier to manage than a bag, plus you can see how much dirt is being picked up, 6. 3 Positions - it has a normal upright position for floor vacumming, an above-floor position that activates the suction for the wand, and finally an ' under-furniture' position for getting underneath tables. 7. The Agitator - It fluffs up the carpet pretty good. I am thinking that with time my carpet may start looking newer ( puffy ) as it loosens up the matted down carpet. Cons: 1. The only thing I did not like was the above-floor tool. Even with the extender it just isn't long enough, and angle that the attachments connect to the wand at make it impossible to get in narrow areas such as between narrow shelves. I also purchased a Bissell Green Machine locally, which works well as a spot cleaner, getting up some very old stains I had in my carpet. What is next? Getting a portable steam cleaner like the one Shark makes for linoleum and tiles, and perhaps getting a full-fledged deep/steam cleaner to make it easy to shampoo my carpet + scotch guard it as well.

Too bad Bissell doesn't advertise,

This review is from: BISSELL 35933 Cleanview Powertrak Plus Upright Bagless Vacuum (Kitchen)
What I said below on Dec. 17, 2004 does not change. ( If there's better...) June 23, 2008, 3 1/2 yrs later, it runs like the day I brought it home. Never a breakdown, service or disappointment. I still say buy 2. By the time it wears out "they won't make 'em like this anymore". If there's better I don't need to pay more for it. If Bissell advertised more there'd be more happy vacuuming people. Model #3593-3 was $87.67 at Walmart. I hesitated because Consumer Report recommends Hoover Windtunnel@$340. and Eureka Boss @$140. & a Sears Kenmore (Hoover) Progressive @ $230. How much value could there be in the non-rated $88. Bissell?! Another vacuum shopper & I discussed our research and bought the last two Bissell's prepared to bring them back. Here's what we got: POWER, not too noisy, practically self-propelled,the dirt collection cup is smack in front w/ a big easy lock lever, a light to see larger debris before it could clog and it pulls and beats the dirt out better then the Electrolux and the Hoover I've paid much more for before. The navy blue case w/ yellow accents looks sporty. The quart + size cup was filled in less then 1 carpet cleaning of my small farm house. As much hard dirt;bottom of the carpet fibers, as there was dust & dog hair; from the top of the carpet. The carpet color and softness is back! The hand hose is too short for drapes/ceilings but o.k. for baseboards. No retractable cord. How much did you want to pay for one? What a find, what a good buy. I'm shaking my head to think I could be this happy over a lousy vacuum. And I saved all that money. You can give this one as a present too-they'll love you.

I usually take a while to make a decision on a purchase and in the end feel disappointed or neutral about it. So when my hoover(with bags) quit working after a very short time, not that it ever worked that well to begin with(dont buy hoover!), I read countless vaccuum reviews. I also checked them out in the stores. Finally I decided on this bissell and I'm very glad I did! So to return the favor I am adding this review(my first) for others like me.I couldn't believe the dirt it picked up on the first several uses(I know, this sounds like an echo!). I am impressed by the suction and it also "fluffs" this old dingy apartment carpeting. Its not nearly as heavy as the hoover and it comes with many attachments which is nice. The only two "complaints" I may have is... The suction is so much that when you use attachments it pulls the hose tight. I dont know how they could remedy this, but I will just say you HAVE TO vacuum steps from the bottom up :) Secondly, the filters need a good hand washing every couple of uses, which is probably completely normal with bagless vacuums, its just one trade off to not using bags. Overall the complaints are very minor and I do recommend this product. Just to note, I have had this vacuum for about 7 months and got it at a very good price.

i orgionally had bought a dyson and wasnt impressed with it so i saw this one. its amazing it cleaned up a ton of dirt that my OLD vacume and the dyson had missed. after cleaning my living room the dust cup was practically full. I had been using my older vacume for 2yrs on this carpeting. I put it together in now time and its light weight and easy to use. the turbo tool is awsome for i have two small dogs. the Vacume picks up big pieces of chewed up dog toys and small dirty alike. im very pleased with my purchase.

I feel obliged to point out that before buying this vacuum, I was using an incredibly old (at least 15 years) Hoover. So perhaps what I find amazing and stupendous is really just run-of-the-mill.I purchased this Vacuum instead of the many others available because of the positive reviews regarding power, etc, and because it included the powerbrush attachment and the extra HEPA filter at a price near $100. I have found it to be easy to assemble and clean (although the first time I cleaned all of the filters I found myself thinking "what was wrong with bags again?") The unit is very powerful, and does an excellent job picking up dirt and cat hair. It comes with a crevice tool and also a dust/upholstery brush, in addition to the powerbrush (a small unit which attaches to the hose and has spinning brushes). The powerbrush uses the suction power to spin it's brushes, and it works really well on cat hair (I don't have to use the sticky lint roller anymore for most things). Overall, I've been thrilled with it's performance on rugs and hardfloors, and in many other situations. I especially like the edge-to-edge sucking power and the rubberized edges of the floor vacuum. I do have a few quibbles with the machine. 1) The hose seems a little short. I don't think I'm using the machine for anything out-of-the-ordinary, but there are several situations where I have to really force the hose to reach or have to reposition the vacuum when I shouldn't. And I'm not going to be vacuuming cobwebs from the ceiling or upper-wall areas anytime soon. 2) To get around the hose being short, you use the plastic extender tool with all the other attachments, including the powerbrush, but the extender is not flexible, which makes using some of the tools very difficult or uncomfortable. Hand-in-hand with this problem is that the attachments (especially the upholstery brush) don't seem to attach at the proper or most comfortable angles. This is not an insurmountable issue. I just had this dream that I'd vacuum things with great frequency, but the attachments and hose length issues are just annoying enough to give me pause and keep me from vacuuming as much as I'd sort of like to. 3) Having never used a combination canister/floor vacuum before, I've really been surprised at how tough it is to remove the hose from it's floor-vacuum connection. I guess it needs to be such a tight seal to allow for the great power and pick-up that I love, but switching to the hose is tough! All-in-all, if you are looking for a bagless vacuum with some excellent add-on features that you will use, you can't go wrong with this one. Who needs a "clean carpet sensor?" |
