Product Description

The Total Floors Complete vacuum is a versatile tool for any home. This vacuum has a convenient Edge Cleaning Port to hold the crevice tool for you and clean along edges more easily. Powerful suction is diverted to the edge of the vacuum to clean along baseboards and furniture where dirt and debris accumulate. The brush roll on/off switch allows for easy transition from cleaning carpets to hard floors and the 40-foot power cord provides greater reach with less time spent dealing with plugs. The Total Floors Complete also includes the TurboBrush Tool and the Long Reach Dusting Tool for cleaning hard surfaces and hard-to-reach places. Additionally, the Febreze Vacuum Filter eliminates odors and leaves your home smelling fresh as you vacuum. Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Bissell Total Floors Complete vacuum exceeded my expectations! The vacuum is powerful and did a fantastic job on every task I've tried so far. This model comes with added features that I've not had in other vacuums I've owned, and they really made a difference in how clean my house was after using it.

First of all, the vacuum has plenty of suction and did a great job on my floors. I have a mix of carpet, rugs, and hardwood in my home. The vac did a great job all around. Even my dark rugs looked much better. The on and off switch for the brush was very handy when vacuuming hard floors. I was able to easily turn off the brush so it didn't just knock the dirt around when I cleaned the hardwood floors. It was interesting to see how quickly the dirt accumulated in the clear dirt cup as I worked.

This vacuum offers deep suction from the edge of the vac, so it can clean up anything along the baseboard. I was a bit skeptical of this, but it really did a great job. It will let me get a deep cleaning every time I vacuum, without having to take the extra time to use a crevice tool. Normally that ends up pretty low on my list of priorities, now I won't have to worry about it.

It comes with an amazing TurboBrush tool. Bissell offers a turbo brush designed for pet hair with some of their models. However, I thought the regular turbo brush did an awesome job on pet hair! The dark red fabric on my couch is napped, so it attracts hair from my chihuahuas. They shed so much fur that I don't understand why they aren't bald. The turbo brush did a great job in removing it from the couch, even along the curves. My dogs have short hair, so you might not have the same results if you have a long hair pet.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I received this vacuum as part of the Amazon Vine review program. I have 3 dogs, a teenage daughter who never looks down, and a husband who never wipes his feet. I vacuum daily and look for machines which are easy to use, and work well on hair and dirt. I do use crevice tools and hoses to grab dust bunnies under the bed and snatch cobwebs from the corners of the room, but for the most part I'm most interested in 'not too heavy' and 'great suction' in a vacuum.

That being said, the BISSELL Totla Floors Complete Bagless Upright Vacuum was just 'OK' (3 out of 5 stars) because while it did a great job on medium length high-low carpet, it neeeded to be set to the bare floors setting to do so. When used on Berber carpet on the bare floors setting, it did an OK job, but I didn't feel like it got the deep doown fine dirt pulled out by other vacuums I own (Hoover Windtunnel and Dyson upright). The edge cleaning port (directs suction to the edge of the vacuum) is very good for tile and wood flooring, and fair for carpeted floors.

I didn't like that when the vacuum was set on anything above the bare floors setting it didn't get much up and out on carpets. The vacuum has 7 height adjustments, but I only ended up using 1 even using it on everything from bare floors to high-low carpet.

The instructions that came with this vacuum were poor, and the associated diagrams were awful! Too dark to really difficult to determine how the vaccum should initially be set up. I eventually figured it out, but it was frustrating. I kept thinking 'This should not be THIS tough!'

The build quality and overall sturdiness of this unit is not nearly as good as the

I was able to give this a thorough workout during a pre-winter cleaning after getting fake Christmas tree needles everywhere. I am most familiar with my very old hand-me-down Panasonic upright and the newer Panasonic canister vacuums, which set my comparison points. Here are my findings:

1) I quickly noticed that the Bissell Total Floors Complete sported some features I thought were ONLY available in canister style vacuums, specifically the fact that you can turn off the spin-brush to make it safe on wood floors and that it had the turbo-brush attachment. This made me realize why uprights are still in the game: combine all the attachment features (and the edge-cleaner that I never saw before) with the simplicity of the upright, and you have a real contender.

The other attachments work well, specifically the upholstery cleaner for my couch, and the other brush on the baseboards. The duster is a good idea as well, although in most cases I'm not sure it's easier than a standard duster, since you have to drag the machine with you.

2) Mobility. The two properly-placed handles on the Bissell make it easy to move around, but it is fairly heavy and bulky (will not get as far under furniture as the others I'm comparing to). The see-through stretch hose is awesome, but it sort of pulls the vacuum around (reminds me of my Rigid shop vac), which is a little unsettling, but I think it would be a rare situation that it actually pulls the vacuum over. The canister vacs are less bulky, but you have to deal with two pieces and you suffer the possibility of them falling over whenever the two pieces are connected and standing still.
