Suitably named Little Green, the deep cleaner has been engineered with sustainable features to reduce waste and help protect the environment. The unit's redesign offers a 95-percent reduction in PVC. It includes a PVC-free hose, PVC-free solution and collection tanks (made of recyclable polypropylene), as well as parts constructed from 100-percent post-consumer recycled plastic. Even its carton and inner packaging are made from a minimum of 75-percent recycled material--all Styrofoam and PVC inserts have been eliminated. Bissell has made a strong commitment to a healthy environment, and its innovative closed-loop manufacturing process allows new vacuums and deep-cleaning machines to be manufactured using post-consumer recycled content. The Little Green deep-cleaning machine measures 9-1/10 by 18-4/5 by 13-1/4 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

The Little Green FAQ
| Is the Little Green as effective at cleaning as a full size machine? Yes. Also, the Little Green has an important advantage. Little Greens long vacuum and power cord let you clean those hard-to-reach spots and spills on stairs and upholstery in your home as well as your auto or RV interiors. Is the Little Green safe for all carpet and upholstery types? The Bissell Little Green is safe and effective on virtually all carpets--although certain wools require extra special care. We recommend following the carpet and upholstery manufacturer fabric treatment instructions before using Little Green. What are the advantages of using the Little Green versus store bought chemical cleaners? Unlike store bought chemical cleaners which are simply sprayed on a stain or rubbed in with a cloth--pushing the stain deeper into carpet and upholstery fibers--Little Green, with its powerful suction, lifts-up spills before they set-in. What maintenance is required for the Little Green? Minimal. The Little Green can be stored ready-to-use to get spots and spills when they happen. However, we recommend rinsing out the dirty water tank after each use. Does the Little Green work effectively at removing pet stains and odors? Using Bissell Pet Odor and Soil Removal solution, with its patented odor eliminator, the Little Green will remove tough odors tracked in dirt, dander, and other soils from pets.

Greener Processes
Closed Loop Manufacturing
Bissell has implemented an innovative closed loop manufacturing process that allows new vacuums and deep cleaning machines to be manufactured using post consumer recycled content. Below is a graphic of this process.
Chemical Blow Molding
Bissell has been practicing recycling in its blowmolded bottle operations for over 40 years. We make our bottles from three plastic types: new resin, reused resin from the waste trimmed off the bottles, and post consumer recycled resin, which makes up 30 percent of the materials.
In 2007, using 30 percent post consumer recycled content in our formula bottles enabled us to save 1 million pounds of high-density polyethylene. This is up dramatically from 176,000 pounds in 2005 and equates to a 470 percent increase in recycled content used. That's a lot of old milk jugs!
