I was having trouble with my Beeman Break Barrel (say that 3 times real fast). I couldn't sight it in, and I did notice that the adjustments were maxed out. I figured what the heck stock scope might not be up to snuff, so I bought a 4X16X40 Center Point. It did the same thing. I was thinking Hmmmm maybe a defective scope, and about that same time I ran across Take AIM with Rick Eusler on you tube. I think it was episode 4 on barrel droop. What he discribed was exactly what I was experiencing. Needless to say This mount BKL 260D7MB did the trick. Now I shoot 5 shot groups at 35 yards that I can cover with a quarter. Best darned mount I ever ran across.

Tried several scope rings, none of them can stay sightin, even with stopper. I finally find this Made In USA scope ring and mounted it right after receiving. I could not believe that the first round hit the target center without any adjustments (scope set back to fatory zero before mounting.) It centerized very well and the 0.007" drop is just right for my Gamo Silent Stalker Whisper IGT, .177 air rifle. I have fired about a hundred rounds and re-tightened the mount. It keeps the accuracy with a few clicks. This scope mount is a little bit expensive but no as much as I spent for the mounts and stoppers before this one.

I have two (2) of these mounts, both are mounted on Diana (RWS) rifles, and both are running Hawke Air Max EV scopes. The mounts will install on basically any spring rifle designed to accept scope rings. You WILL encounter a problem if you have a Hawke scope, or any scope with a thick saddle area. Basically, the Hawke scope will bottom out on the scope mount before the tube of the scope makes contact with the rings. The saddle area of the scope is the area right in the center of your scope (where you make sight adjustments).

I contacted BKL about this issue, and asked if they had a droop model with rings that were just a bit taller; to allow the Hawke Airmax scopes to clear. BKL advised me that they are very much aware that the Hawke scopes do not fit this mount. The nice lady suggested I grind or file away at the scope rail. She also said that this would void any warranty. Nice. In the end, I simply wrapped friction grip tape around my scope, and this shimmed it up, and now barely allows my scopes to clear the mount. My rifles are de-tuned, so they have a soft shot-cycle. If my rifles were not de-tuned, the recoil would surely slap the bottom of the scope. A piece of paper won't fit between the scope's saddle and the BKL scope base. This problem is not unique to Hawke scopes, and BKL does not disclose this issue.

At $60.00 a copy, BKL should offer a mount with the right ring height. At the very least they should make the consumer aware that some brands of scopes will not work with this mount. Yes, my rifles shoot very well, but it is not due to this mount. I have several others that shoot just as well with $20.00 UTG +10 mounts, and cheap rings. The BKL mount just looks nice, and to suggest that I should grind out a dish in the center of the mount, well, I just won't do that. The experience has caused me to distrust BKL, and I now avoid their products. Good luck.

I consider this to be the best mount for a springer type air rifle, or any other heavy recoiling dovetail mounting rifle. The self-centering design of BKL mounts really works and I haven't had to adjust windage much at all with any of their products. It can be a little difficult getting them on some rifles and you'll have to utilize the screws in the spreader holes, but once on they are solid as a rock. I was surprised when I mounted a scope with this and the first pellet was dead on at 24 feet in my garage.

The only caveat in my case was that the scope I originally wanted this for has a 50mm adjustable objective lens which just barely touched the top of the rifle, so I had to use a different scope. I think BKL definitely needs to make a version of this that's at least ¼" taller to allow for circumstances like mine. Other than making sure it will fit in your own circumstances, I can't think of any reason not to use these. They aren't cheap, but they are a quality product, and they are manufactured in the U.S.A.
