This is a wonderful, well-made leather case for the Asus 1000he. There are several slim pockets under the screen cover side for memory cards & a few business cards and the leather is high quality.

The only bad news is that there is a small leather strip running under the space bar (and above the touch pad) that makes the space bar a little difficult to hit when typing fast. You have to angle your thumb down more to hit the space bar or else you'll be blocked by the leather strip.

My friend noticed this right away but if you don't mind this minor annoyance, this case is for you! I figure that I can either cut this leather part off or remove the cover when typing extensively. Problem solved.

I did not read the reviews before buying the product so when it got to my home i realized that it did not fit my Asus eee pc 1005ha.

So i cut and shortened the straps at the back, stitched them back and now it fits.

I have this case for my 1000he. It is beautiful and protects well. Mostly. The leather takes a beating and saves the machine.
However, there are 2 real design flaws keeping this from being perfect.

1.) The worst flaw is the stitching. For some reason the stitches left pressure marks on my screen and I had to apply 4 foam pads to keep the screen from being flush to the stiches. I couldn't find the pads in black, they are white, so stick out and are ugly, but keep my screen safe. I ended up using the little sticky pads on cabinets that keep them from banging shut since my grandson was kind enough to have already peeled them off for me. They don't leave a sticky residue if I remove them from my netbook. Worked in a pinch.

2.) Second, is the backing does indeed scratch the back of the the netbook. The shiny black back of the netbook was new before I put the leather case on, now I have several scratches all throughout the back. I think a felt material might have worked better.

The leather is starting to get scarred up and I rarely use the netbook, not sure who is scuffing it, but if the leather looks like that I can't imagine how the netbook would look without it. The magnetic closure strap is nice, though I wish it could be pushed into the case when not needed. I tend to fold it under, but it is starting to develop a crease.

The problem with the case is that it doesn't fit the Eee PC 1005HA netbook. It's too bad, because otherwise its a decent case.

This sleeve fits the ASUS 1000HE perfectly. It looks very professional, like a planner. Excellent for the price. If you're considering buying this I highly recommend it. Also, I am not having any issues with the space bar as mentioned in a previous review.

I love my ASUS EEEPC 1000HE, but it has a gloss surface that collects fingerprints like eyes on a beautiful woman. This case is a perfect fit (snug, solid) and a perfect solution to the fingerprint issue. Even with the leather case the netbook fits in the neoprene cover that came with my 1000HE. And the price is good, too.

This case cover is great. It's really thick and protects my netbook better than I thought. The only bummer's are the strap is annoying when you open the cover, so you have to tuck it under and the piece above the touch pad; between the space bar and tough pad, makes it hard to hit the space bar with your thumb. You have to slide the cover down a bit. No biggie. I've had it almost a year and it still looks new.

I looked at a number of portfolio cases for the Asus eeePC 1000HE and was concerned that the larger 9 cell battery on this model would not fit cases for other Asus 1000 netbooks. This case works just fine and gives the netbook a very professional look, almost like a large leather planner. All the holes and function cut outs are made to fit the computer. The case eliminates all the fingerprints. I fits just right and does not add excess weight. The lining looks professional as well and has space for some SD cards and a FEW business cards. The leather is soft and the stitching is good. Since the cover makes the unit not look like a computer, it might offer some theft protection. But I still would not leave it in plain sight in my car. The netbook will still fit in the original Asus sleeve adding another layer of protection as was mentioned in a previous review. All in all, a great purchase with some very quick regular shipping from the seller.

Well enough constructed, I suppose, but a little too chic for my taste. The main complaint, however, is that it renders the space-bar unusable by blocking it. If you don't type, this could well be the case for you!
