This Blackhawk holster in size 08 is the perfect size fit for the S&W M&P Shield 9mm and for the Springfield XDS 45. It looks like it was custom made for them. It will also work with a Glock 23 or Glock 19. For best results, wear a tactical style belt because they are usually wider and more stiff than an everyday dress belt. The strap is adjustable to fit each gun length and has a metal snap to secure it down with on the side.

I have used Nylon holster for years. I leave my revolvers holstered in them all the time. They have never rusted by being in a nylon holster. I also live in southern Arizona (not much humidity).

I purchased the size 13 for my 6.5" barreled Ruger single-action revolver. I have used almost identical Sidekick holsters from Uncle Mike's for years. According to my measurements, the Sidekick holster will fit on a 21/4" belt; the Blackhawk! will fit on a maximum belt width of 2". For my use, I like the more narrow belt loop. The revolver fits perfectly in the Blawkhawk!.

The negative reviewers don't seem to have the 21 years of experience with nylon cordura holsters. Comments about the holster being too soft, the belt loop too flexible, and the holster moving around haven't used these type of holsters much. One reviewer stated "The material that holds the holster to the belt cannot be counted on for strength." I disagree. I had a Sidekick that carried my Ruger Bisley for over 20 years before the 'flexible plastic' started splitting. It did not fail all at once, either. I saw the problem and 'retired' the holster in the campfire. The belt loop didn't come away from the holster, the belt loop itself 'failed', if you can call it that after 20 plus years of service. I like the Blackhawk! system because the belt loop doesn't have the extra slots for thinner belts, exactly where my Sidekick finally cracked across the thinner material. The Blackhawk! loop is double-stitched to the holster top and bottom, just like the Sidekick.

For this type of generic nylon holster at this price, the Blawkhawk! is a great value, at the same price or slightly below Uncle Mike's Sidekick.

I ordered this for a 4" model 28 (N Frame) Smith for range use. Due to the large frame it does not seat far enough to cover the rear sight. The extra 1" at the bottom (designed for 4-5" barrels) is only distracting cosmetically. Because I just use the smith for target practice there was no consideration given in this purchase for concealment. GOOD RANGE HOLSTER - holds the firearm securely and requires a firm pull currently. Over time I expect that the fabric will stretch slightly to allow an easier pull, but I am not using this for competition, so that is not an issue for me. I prefer leather, but the price was too good to spend more than twice as much for a leather range holster. FIREARM PROTECTION - the padding on the holster protects the gun far more than I initially believed. For long term storage, a gun case would be best, but to put it on a shelf or in a range box it does fine.

Purchased as a direct replacement for another Blackhawk that gave years of service. Though designed for a hammered weapon, it works great for my hammerless .357 snubnose. Good fit and keeps it close to the body, quick release.

This is a solid, straight forward holster that should give years of service. It is basically the same as Uncle Mikes holsters only I like the belt loop better which is a solid belt loop and it is made in the USA not Vietnam.

Being left handed and short on money, I did not have many options for finding a good holster, so I purchased this one. It is a good fit for a Glock 30 and is the holster I use for when I carry concealed.

Its not particularly fancy, but for its price range its about the best you're going to get. It does what it needs to do.

If you want something better you're going to need to spend more money.

Blackhawk 09 5-shot revolver holster not only fits that but actually fits both a colt det. spec and a rossi 2" 357 and the retention strap keeps the firearm in place without slippage. Good inexpensive belt holster and keeps it dry when not using. leather holster tend to get moist and mold inside after a long use. .

Great product and over Leather, it has the advantage of not creating a moisture layer on your firearm. It keeps form of pistol very well, and is perfect for the outdoorsman. Its a low cost holster with quality built into it, so if it does get damaged you wont cry over the money spent on it.
Its light weight and easy to clean, not like leather, but don't get me wrong about leather, I like it too, it does have its place. But if your going to spend any length of time outdoors in the woods or hiking and your concerned about damaging your holster, this one is perfect because its tough and has little to no maintenance issues at all.

I would recommend this product
