There is absolutly nothing bad to say about these holsters. I own quite a few BLACKHAWK products, and every one is top notch. I can carry my Glock, and do my daily dozen witrhout even thinking about it going missing on me. I have some with the Serpa lock, but I personally tend to like the ones w/o it better. The holster is great. I love that it can be either a paddle, or belt type holster, and everything is in the package. no extra charge.

Does what a holster is supposed to do. Super comfortable and durable, great retention, works great for IDPA, everyday concealed carry, ect. Blackhawk makes top notch equipment.

Mighty Tight on my Sig Super Match,

This review is from: BLACKHAWK! CQC Standard Concealment Matte Finish Holster (Sports)
I have tried this for a Sig P220 Super Match. Even with the tension screw backed out all the way, the piece is held so tightly that re-holstering results in partial slide retraction. On the draw, the holster tries so hard to retain the gun that one is almost as likely to give oneself a wedgie as to present the weapon to the target. At least you know you won't lose the gun accidentally -- it's very secure for a tension-retained holster.
I would suspect that this might be due to subtle differences in slide or frame dimensions between regular P220s and the single-action-only Super Match, except that I first purchased a Blackhawk Serpa CQC for the same gun, and the fit of that holster is absolutely perfect -- smooth as fine machinery. I only tried the CQC Standard because the Serpa features positive-retention "finger-lever/click" operation, and I didn't really want that for IDPA match use. Yet the Serpa is so excellent in security and satisfactory operation that I may just put the time into learning that finger-lever release as second nature. As for the Standard...well, the comparable tension-retained Fobus Evolution holster is actually better, and it's a bit less expensive. I live and learn. |
