Not an easy book to read,

I found this book difficult to read because of the graphic descriptions of the life that many dogs live in the numerous puppy mills that can be found throughout North America. But at the same time I'm glad that I did read it becasue I learned a lot about how bad it is, how these infamous places can continue to stay in business, and how a few dear people are working to make things better for the animals caught in these nightmares. Not only that, but it was a pretty good mystery story, and I enjoyed the book for that too. Holly Winter is one of my favourite sleuths, and not only because she's a dog lover like me. I am really enjoying this series, and recommend it highly.
