He really has fun decorating not just paper but also rocks, we received this kit for a birthday present and he just loves it. There is almost no end to the things you can decorate with the blopens. It is really easy to use, and seems to be lasting a pretty long time so far. It is also in a nice package to contain all the parts and keep it organized and also a tray to hold the item which is being painted, this contains the paint in the tray. One of my kids got paint spattered on her and it washed right off and also washed out of her clothes no problem.

My daughter received a blopen kit over a year ago. She has used it for many school projects and also just for fun. She and her friends love it and the teachers have commented on how original her projects are. They want to know how she did it. She did one project which had to do with space and planets. She used the blopens to make the background(Blue black and purple). It looked realistic and then she mounted her planets on top. They were also made using the blopens and the whole effect was very artistic. The only negative comment I have is that I have not been able to find replacement pens anywhere including on the internet. It would be nice to be able to buy replacement pens without having to buy the whole kit again.

We bought these for the kids after seeing the commercial on Cartoon Network and bazillion times. Too cool! By blowing into the end of the pen, your child can create an airbrush effect on paper, cardboard, whatever. I suggest you spread some newspaper out beforehand, or better yet, do this outside. Eager kids can easily give you a lovely creation on your kitchen wall (must be why the company recommends parental supervision). There's a one-way valve in each pen which prevents your child from sucking on the end and inhaling the ink. The best part is watching your child's face when he sees what he can make. This inexpensive pen set entertains our kids for hours (NOTE: don't let the dog get a hold of them- I'll spare you the gory details).

My 6 year old received this as a gift and it's wonderful. He has no trouble using them on his own and they are not nearly as messy as I would have expected. It has now become my favorite gift for other children.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter and she loves them, we do not need newspaper under it, water or any things to clean with. She loves to do them in the car when we travel and it is well contained so she is able to. The paint does run if you blow too hard but otherwise an excellent product for such a large age range.

i am an artist; i make a lot of greeting cards. i have found blo-pens to be a lot of fun and i have been very creative with them. i found that i do better when i use my own stencils, and i have experimented a lot with the pens. my frustration is not being able to find just the pens, except for the "bold" colors, which i do not need. and i don't like the color change pens (the colors are blah, as far as i'm concerned). would love to know how to find an assortment of pens.

My kids are getting into crafts. I bought this set for my 3 and 5 yr olds. They both can operate the pens and they love them!
Parents, you do not have to worry about inhaling the ink. They have a contained system. What amazes me is how simple the product is but it works fabulous. It is easy to put together
and take apart. Also, it can be used for many projects.
Money well spent. Doesn't require large amounts of parental guidance, that is unless you can't put them down and are fighting your kids for them!

This ink runs through paper, so be sure and cover the surface your child is working on and make sure they wear old clothes. This ink stains, and some colors come out but others don't. Our kids enjoyed Blopens so much we couldn't keep them away from it, to our home's detriment. You'll be in for an unfortunate surprise if your child decides to sit on the floor over carpet or at a table with a tablecloth while using these pens. We were surprised that a company would make a child's toy like this with ink that won't easily wash out. Just something to consider before buying.

I'm only 13 and I don't have a baby i just like looking at the stuff but i know where you can find refills. I'm not sure if you Michael's Arts and Crafts Stores in New York, NY but we do in Kansas. You can look in the kid's crafts section. They should have them near markers and kid's paints. Hope it helped.

Blo Pens are very fun and will keep your kids occupied for hours! Blo Pens are washable on surfaces so any spray that didn't quite reach the paper can be cleaned instantly. Just don't get the ink on your clothes! This set is especially good for the amount of $$$ you pay. It comes with a great amount of pens, a hoard of stencils, and a studio pen case! It's really great!
