It is very handy to have a couple spare batteries and a spare charger especially when I am taking a lot if flash pictures!

Haven't used these batteries yet - but I purchased them because they were much cheaper than purchasing them at Best Buy.

I bought this to help power the Canon PowerShot SX50 HS I just bought. I am always skeptical when ordering any after-market battery for a cellphone or camera, especially when the price and product claims seem too good to be true. I've both witnessed firsthand and heard the horror stories of others about re-labeled batteries and obviously used items being sold as "new".

When the batteries and charger arrived, I examined them and saw that they are not the exact batteries pictured on the product page. The batteries on the product page have no brand name on them and claim to be 1200 mA. The batteries I received are marked with the "Xit Photo" brand and claim to be 1550 mA. The Canon OEM batteries are marked as 920 mA. Having batteries that have a higher amperage would be a good thing if it were true; but I have to wonder why, if making a 1550 mA battery is that inexpensive and easy, Canon hasn't decided to include the better technology with its brand new super zoom camera?

I decided to do a test of the capacity of the batteries, so I charged them all, inserted one of the Xit batteries into the camera, and began snapping photos with the flash forced on. After 376 pictures, nearly all with the flash firing, the battery indicator on the camera finally came down one indicator mark. I was very surprised because this far exceeds the Canon specifications for number of pictures shot on one battery. I haven't tested the Canon battery out yet (it took over an hour just to snap all the pics with the one Xit battery), but I am more than impressed with the performance of the Xit battery.

The one thing I hate about most new cameras is that they all have their own unique battery, and thus their own unique battery charger. If you own several Canon cameras, as I do, then you also wind up owning several different, but visually similar chargers that you have to store. And you know that you ALWAYS pick up the wrong one the first, or even second or third, time. And woe be unto you should you misplace the charger you need. Which is exactly what I did with the charger for my SX40HS.

So I bought this charger (and then of course found the Canon one a week later). Since I had it, though, and since I lost the Canon charger once, I decided to keep it. Then I decided to see if one charger, or one battery, was better than the other.

The good news is that the batteries are interchangeable (as you would expect) between the two chargers. Both chargers also took just about the same amount of time to charge the non-Canon batteries. So the charger does what it should, but is no better or worse than the Canon supplied charger.

What IS different is the battery life I get with the non-Canon battery versus the Canon battery. This is not scientific by any means, but the new batteries do seem to last significantly longer than my original Canon battery, so that is a big plus for me. However, even if I only got the same battery life out of the non-Canon batteries, having two extra means I get triple the battery life before needing to charge. So far, though, after more than two weeks, and almost 300 pictures, I am still on my first battery, so I am a very happy camper. You can't beat the price, either, so I think this is a five star product.

At the price, these batteries are better than the original. They seem to last longer. With the Canon SX-50, I do a lot of zooming in and out, trying to get the best framing. These seems to last.

The batteries work just like the ones that come with the Camera (Canon SX50HS), but they last a lot longer. This was a great deal. Canon wanted so much more for Genuine Part.

The capacity of these battery packs is much higher than the standard battery the camera comes with.
It was a nice surprise because I wasn't expecting them to be any different than what I already had.
Definitely a good buy.

These seem to work as well as the one that came with my camera. Good product at a good price.

Was a little cautious about being able to get so much for so little. Two rechargeable batteries! This entire purchase cost less than the price of one battery in the store. Very satisfied with the product,,price and quick delivery.

BUYER BEWARE: These batteries were the least expensive available on the Internet when I bought them. They worked perfectly in the Canon PowerShot camera when I got them. But I noted immediately that they did NOT maintain a charge as long as the Canon battery that came with the camera. The price difference between these batteries and original equipment seemed to compensate for their noticeably shorter operating time. But as I used them, I noted that each time the time and shots available became increasingly shorter. Now after two weeks of frequent use, I am lucky to get 10 or 15 minutes and as many shots out of each battery. This shorter charge-life is despite the claim on the battery of a much higher mAh rating than the Canon battery (1480 vs. 920). I have had good experiences with other after-market generic batteries (for the Canon SX35). They still last much longer after several years of use and reuse than these new batteries. Unfortunately, I have now passed the return date and am stuck with two nearly worthless batteries. DO NOT BUY THESE BATTERIES.
