Fine book...if you live in Great Britan, March 31, 2008
This review is from: BMW 1975-2001: Model by Model (Hardcover)
Not relevant info for North Americans. Specific model information is buried in text. Not many detailed pictures or description on options, performance data.

Too biased for my taste, August 12, 2006
This review is from: BMW 1975-2001: Model by Model (Hardcover)
Read more as a story about the history of BMW, I found it to be lacking in use as a buying guide for someone unfamiliar with BMW. Considering it is a model by model guide I would have found more data on options and sub-models useful. And there is little doubt that the author is a very biased BMW driver. This is where it really falls down, according to this book each BMW is practically faultless so how do you choose?

Well worth the read, November 16, 2004
This review is from: BMW 1975-2001: Model by Model (Hardcover)
I purchased this book hoping to learn the year by year details of all modern BMW models. The book does a nice job and is well worth the read and has given me the overview I wanted. If you are looking for general information of the span of models this book is for you. If you are looking for specifics on a given series you would do better with a series specific book <which Amazon has plenty of>.
It takes a while to get used to British dialect and humor but after a chapter or so you get used to it. The author took an exceptional approach to the vehicles he showcases in the book. Many of the photos are of cars with high mileage. There aren't many trailer queens or trophy cars in the older models. This gave a real world look at the models and it is nice to be presented a 15-20 year old daily driver. I certainly recommend the book.
