I was very excited when the package arrived earlier than I had expected. When I opened the box, the BMW emblem looked exactly the way I expected - I was pleasantly surprised. I immediately pried off my old, nasty BMW emblem and popped the new one on; it looked great...for about three weeks. Had I written a review prior to this weekend, I would have given five stars. But, sadly, after a torrential rain storm this past week, the emblem simply came off! The plastic silver plaque remained attached to my hood - but the BMW sticker (I am assuming that it was a sticker, since it came off so easily) is GONE. So, now I have nothing but a cheap piece of silver plastic on my hood. Now I am out $20 and my poor little car looks worse than it did before. I think I will now go ahead and just pay the price for a 'certified' emblem from my BMW mechanic. <sigh>

The item sold by Accessories Specialty Store is a knockoff and does not approach the appearance or quality of the OE part.
Stamped with on the back as "Repl.51148132375" The emblem is stamped with the BMW roundel on back as though it were OE, but it's clearly neither an OE nor OEM part. This emblem feels cheap and the chrome-look plastic is about twice as thick as OE emblem. The logo itself is a glossy sticker placed over the chrome plastic. It does not adhere to the plastic properly, and in my case it fell off in less than a week.
The genuine OE part is BMW Part 51148132375 stamped as "51.14 BMW 8132375" on the reverse. It does not have the roundel stamped on back, and the black background and logo are painted and lacquered. It's available from more reputable sources for about $30.

Good for about a week.
