1.0 out of 5 stars Too many cons for such an expensive add-on
Pros:
- Allows the use of a car seat in the stroller

- Stroller can still fold up

Cons:
- Installation takes 3 different tools, glue, at least 31 steps, and a lot of attention to detail. There are multiple screws to remove and replace. Expect to make mistakes. They should pay us to install this thing.

This review is from: BOB Graco Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers, Black (Baby Product)

- The car set fit for our Graco Snugride is mediocre at best. Even when clipped, the seat wobbles. The foot end of the car seat bends the stroller frame to fit properly. Even when fitted, the car seat is in an extremely upright position - much more so than when placed in the seat base in our car.

- The styrofoam block used to stabilize the car seat is just that - a snow white styrofoam block. I'm sure this will get dingy and gross after a while of jogging with a 2 year old in the next seat.

- The cup holders are way too for all but the smallest sippy cups. The other compartments in the tray are also too small to fit anything useful.

- There is no way to flip up the adapter to allow toddlers to crawl in the seat by themselves - a real problem for people with bad backs, or in our case, a wife with a recent c-section. There really isn't adequate space for a child to squeeze in - you have to lift them up and place them in the seat.

I'm not going to return this (because I destroyed the box), but if I had known these things from the beginning, I would NOT have purchased it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fine product, but grossly overpriced., January 18, 2009

This review is from: BOB Graco Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
First, let me be clear in saying I LOVE the BOB strollers. We have a Revolution single, and now a Revolution Duallie AW, and they are outstanding products. High quality, excellent craftsmanship, and good-looking to boot. My girls ride in comfort & style, to be sure.
I also understand - to a point - the high price. Elite product, elite price. And there are certainly more expensive strollers out there.
That said... if I'm dropping close to $600 to buy a stroller, it ought to come with a freakin' car seat adapter.
Okay, fine, it doesn't. So I'll buy it, otherwise I can't use it with my newborn. Plus, otherwise, there is no tray. But $89? Please. For what? $10 worth of metal and plastic? Why not just fold it in to the price to begin with?? Same with the handlebar console. You can't throw in a black canvas band with the purchase of the stroller itself?
Of course, I bought everything. The single console and car seat adapter for our single Revolution, and now the double console (for which I also wrote a review) and double car seat adapter.
I'm just thankful I don't live somewhere rainy or I'd be grousing about the price of the weather thingy, too...

Oh and it took my husband (an engineer) about an hour to put the thing on, since he had already assembled the stroller. Apparently if you put it on during the stroller assembly you'll save yourself a considerable amount of time...the manual for the stroller should indicate such, but does not.

This is a great product but does have some short comings...
The good: It does stay on when folding the stroller and it does not affect the collapsed size of the stroller; It is rugged and not much chance of it breaking.
The short comings: It does not fold up to load a toddler (not a big deal) nor does it remove quickly, it is designed to stay installed; The Graco car seats are compatible but the fit is not great.

We contacted BOB to inquire about the fit of the Graco and they told us that the Graco fits best out of any compatible car seats. We took the stroller to the store and tried other brands of car seats and I found that the Peg Pergo fit much better. The Graco seat clicks loosely onto the "Car Seat Adapter" but the real problem is that the foot end of the car seat wants to sit too low causing the baby to be much too upright. This problem could be crudely addressed with a thick blanket being put under the Graco car seat (in the BOB stroller) to support it. Just be very aware that the car seat does not click in with a nice snug fit like it would with the same brand stroller.
I do not plan on returning the "Car Seat Adapter" but if I can't address the problem I may buy a Peg Pergo car seat. This stroller is that good!

This review is from: BOB Graco Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
Seriously? A hundred bucks for a metal bar? The whole reason we bought a BOB is because it was the only side by side double stroller we could find that would support our car seat. Once installed, the car seat is unstable, the restraining strap barely fits, the car seat crushes the canopy against the back of the stroller, and the car seat invades the space of the other rider. In fact, it is so unstable that the company started including a foam block to place in the actual seat to help stablize the car seat. As my husband noticed, for sucha price they could have at least covered the foam! And the snack tray, while handy, has compartments that are way, way too small. My toddler's sippy cup wouldn't fit. I am shocked that such an expensive stroller wouldn't come with the accessory, that the accessory is so expensive, and the accessory is such poor quality. We have no choice but to stick with it, but boy oh boy do we have regrets!

2.0 out of 5 stars An afterthought in design, January 23, 2010
By

This review is from: BOB Graco Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
As many have already said the cup holders are too high to be of use. I don't understand why a few feet of bent metal rod can cost $89. The instructions are poorly written and it takes special tools to install i.e., 8mm socket and 4mm allen wrench. This is not an easy install unless you are handy with tools. It works but you have to put a big foam block (comes with the kit) under the car seat to support it properly--the adapter seems like an afterthought in the design. BOB cautions you in the fine print of the stroller that you can't run with it if the car seat is attached! In fact they warn against any running until the infant is at least eight months old because he/she cannot support their head properly until older. So if you are only walking around the block or the mall I guess it works for only one car seat.

Why on earth does this adapter hold only one car seat? It's for a DUALLIE. I have twins, and that renders this accessory completely useless to me. What a waste.

4.0 out of 5 stars Is not compatible with the 2011 strollers!, March 27, 2011

This review is from: BOB Graco Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
I recently purchased this item to use with the new 2011 BOB Duallie Revolution stroller. I did not realize, nor was it mentioned in the product description, until now that this car seat adaptor is not compatible with the new BOB stroller. The new adaptor is not being sold on amazon.com at this time, I think due to it being on backorder. I did find the new adaptor advertised on stroller momma.com but it is on backorder. Just wanted to let people know not to order this product if you bought/have the new 2011 BOB strollers.

This product was very disappointing. I bought it so that we could use it for twins, but this will only allow for one infant carseat. It was very misleading and I had to send it back.

I'm sure this would be a great addition to my new BOB stroller, however it is not compatable with the 2011 version . . . Amazon failed to mention this in their description.

This review is from: BOB Graco Infant Car Seat Adapter For Duallie Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
I bought the car seat adapter for my new infant twin boys. However, the car seat adapter only works for 1 car seat and then has a toddler tray. I will keep the adapter for both the toddler trays for later in life, but I can't use the stroller to take the weight off of carrying 2 infant car seats.
