I collect mugs; I have dozens from different trips. But I don't use them when in the car or on the ferry. What can I say, I'm a klutz and end up wearing more coffee than I drink. I've tired lots of commuter mugs, but most either leak or are too difficult to use. This one is different. The screw top stopper not only works, it is really easy to use. The rubberized bottom keeps it in place on a table and the design is pretty nice looking to boot. I've even put the mug in my shoulder bag without it leaking. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is that it's a little too small and the top can be a little difficult to clean though not as bad as some I've used. I purchased the larger version and like it even better. Both are great for hot or cold drinks.

Purchased a month ago, I've used this travel mug at home and on the road. The size is nice and compact, giving me just the right amount of 'caffeine juice' to drink before cooling to room temp. That said, my one complaint is that you cannot put very hot liquids (boiling) in the plastic or it will crack and re-warming in the microwave is out. "Just off the boil" is what the mfr recommends. I'm a weirdo; liking my java piping hot to the very last dregs. If you like tepidly warm coffee or hot choc, this is perfect. On another note... the seal works perfectly if the lid is screwed down nice and tight. As others have noted, it'll take a toss in the bag and come out leak-free. If the mfrs added a sandwich layer of insulation, this mug would be ideal. If you have little kids who need a sippey mug that'll keep beverages at the right temp, this is perfect: not too hot, not too cold; not too big, not too small.

Perfect for Keurig Mini,

I bought this mug for a Keurig Mini brewer that I recently received. This travel mug is exactly the right size to fit underneath if you slide out the drip tray. I brew directly into the mug and then screw on the lid and head to work! As a bonus, these are leak proof, so I can throw them in my lunch bag and take it to work without worrying about it leaking all over my car. I don't find the insulation to be a problem, but then I usually have to let the mug vent for a while to be able to drink my coffee (I would like to be able to feel my tongue at the end of the day), and I don't let it sit around forever. Great product!

Great travel mug for coffee brewer,

I have been searching and using many mugs for my drip coffee. The last one I used was Thermos Sipp, which is a great mug for preserving temperature (>8hr and it's still hot~warm), but it also retains the smell of coffee no matter how hard I washed. And then I decided to try this Bodum mug that doesn't seem to be anything near the high-end Thermos mug. I was totally wrong, and this mug is definitely the mug I have been looking for. Here are the reasons:1. It is the best mug for a coffee brewer like me that it allows me to do dripping right on top of it and watch the volume with its transparent plastic body. 2. It does not preserve temperature as good as Thermos does at all (1hr after it will be completely cooled to room temperature), but this is actually a great feature for a good cup of coffee to gradually cool down before bitter/bad taste appears because of long-hour at high temperature. 3. Most importantly, it doesn't retain the smell at all. All I need to do is just to wash it with water and a little bit of detergent. I would recommend this to anyone who is serious about the taste of coffee during commuting.

I was looking for a smaller travel mug for cappuccino and espresso. These worked perfectly. They are a nice size. They also don't leak so I can drop a full one in a bag and take it with me. The only short fall is that they are plastic. I wish they were stainless as they don't seem to keep things hot as long as my larger stainless mug.

The excellent design of this cup has impressed me - I have more confidence it in then any other 'non-spill' cup I have owned. It appears fiddly at first, but all comes apart into well designed parts for cleaning with no nooks-and-crannies for unpleasantness to build up in. There is about a teaspoon of drink left in the cup once you've drained it that can't be drunk due to the design. Overall I'm very impressed with the functionality, design and price. Recommended.

This thing works just fine, I can throw it IN my backpack and not worry about leaks. I use a french press which may be the reason I haven't encountered any problems. It's the perfect size for a cup of good coffee, the rubber non-slip bottom works great, you get big sips that don't explode out of the cover, it's easy to clean. I hear it's not dishwasher safe though I've stuck it in there and it looks fine. Still, washing by hand is NOT a big deal.Good cup! I might get a few more.

I bring in espresso every day, so I was looking for a smaller mug that wouldn't leak all over my bag. I didn't care if it kept it warm or cold, I didn't care what it looked like, I just wanted smaller and leakproof. It's smaller. It's incredibly tough to get open - there is no grip to the texture of the lid. No one in my office can open it; I have to stick it in the freezer or frig just long enough to make the plastic contract to be able to open it. And regardless of how lightly or heavily I screw the lid down, it leaks. It has gaskets at the screw between the lid and cup, and the interior screw that opens to let the user drink, and still it leaks. My new bag has an exterior pocket into which it fits perfectly, which keeps it upright, and I've got one more idea to try to get the coffee stains out before I give up - so not only have I wasted money on the cup, but it destroyed a new $60 bag. At least it's not car upholstry, but still. IT LEAKS. HORRIBLY. And for those of you who are concerned about actually keeping the temperature where you intend - it doesn't. It has about an hour, within a day/environment of optimal weather, before the espresso goes cold. As mentioned, I don't care. But I do care that I can never, ever get that last half ounce of coffee out due to the top design. It's annoying, frustrating, and making me ok with the idea of lugging a 16oz coffee mug to hold my 6 oz of espresso.

I bought this travel mug because it met my main criteria: small, cheap, spill-proof. I also thought it would be easy to clean (though it is NOT dishwasher safe), especially when I found that the lid comes apart into two pieces. However, the central feature of the design is ultimately its downfall: instead of having one hole for a spout, there is a row of very small holes in equal spacing all the way around the inner lid. This allows you to drink from anywhere on the lid, as if it were a regular mug. But: these little holes also make it tough to clean the lid thoroughly, and, even worse, hard to dry: I've noticed a faint mildewy smell in the lid on a couple of occasion. In my estimation, this mug is not worth it! |
