I love the bodum glass storage containers. I use this size to store a a full pound of coffee whole beans; there is a lot of space left over after I put in the pound, but this doesn't bother me. The container is also tall, so make sure you have room where you plan on putting it.

Pros
- Beautiful
- Fairly air tight
- Easy to open and close
- Stackable

Cons
- The glass is thin... I'd be careful as I suspect they will be easy to break. This is why it gets only 4 stars instead of 5.

UPDATE:

I broke my first one of these (I bought a total of 5 of various sizes; the one I broke is the 68-Ounce here). :-( I was closing it, and I guess I was a little rough, but it shouldn't have broken from that. Minus one star for actual breakage...

I bought this jar to store coffee in the refrigerator. I had read reviews before I purchased it and knew that I needed the 68 ounce size jar if I wanted a pound of coffee to fit in it. What I didnt know is that it is so tall that it doesnt fit on any shelf in the refrigerator. I guess these jars are more for standing on a counter. We had just purchased a new French door refrigerator and were lucky that one of the half shelves was able to be removed allowing space for the jar to fit. I have two of them in there...one for regular coffee and one for decaf. I love the jars....love the look of them and love how the seal is so airtight. I just wish they would have been a little wider and shorter so I wouldn't have had to remove that shelf. But overall its a great product.

Felt the urge to review this after seeing the other less positive reviews. We are very satisfied with our purchase of this product. The seal functions well in protecting the freshness of whatever you put in them. Nice looking as well...looked good enough that we didn't mind leaving one or two out of the cabinets.
Only thought was that the glass could be a little heavier. I am curious how they will hold up over time, but so far couldn't be happier. We are planning on buying a few other sizes down the road. I couldn't find a better deal than the 4 for 3 promotion on these anywhere else for a comparable jar.

This jar is fantastic looking and perfect for displaying on a counter top. I use mine for coffee and while I was initially hesitant because it doesn't seem that air tight, I haven't had any issues maintaining freshness. However I haven't used it in the more humid summer months so it's full performance has yet to be evaluated.

The glass feels thin, which is fine with me, but it may bother others who have granite counter tops and pick it up or move it around often. The most use mine gets is being slid forward, opened, and slid back into place (other than washing) and I do not expect to have any issues. The thinner glass looks better anyway as the base isn't overly thick and distorted looking.

The only downside is the design of the lid. I personally like it but several people have mentioned to me that it looks like it's upside down. It's a valid observation but it doesn't bother me. Instead of the lid being flat on top the sides rise up but the middle is about even with the top of the glass part of the jar. The lid is also slightly wider than the jar so that another one can be placed on top (and thus will not just slide off since it sits inside of the lid) but I think stacking is better suited to smaller ones. The 68 ounce jar is pretty tall so a second one on top may not be the best decision. It also swallows an entire pound of coffee with ease, leaving plenty of room on top for more.
