A knife is a tool, simply said. It has to be able to do the job required of it. The Gent 2 Pocket Knife is sharp, small, and unobtrusive. It is also attractive, with a damascus blade, and dark scales. The Gent 2 is flat, has a strong clip as well as a hole for a cord if a one wishes to carry it as a neck knife.
We all need several different knives for the various purposes.
I wouldn't carry this knife on a hike in the woods, nor would I use it in the garden for pruning branches. It is not designed for chopping firewood, nor for skinning a deer.

It is designed to carry in ones pocket when when going out to dinner or to work in an office, or out for the evening. This small folder has a good locking mechanism and can be opened one handed if you are a right handed gent. The name is a little misleading, because it is small and delicate enough to be carried in a purse by a lady.

Decent steel but flimsy action, doesn't make me excited to own it. Decent backup but would never be my go to knife.

I was not afraid to buy this knife because it's Boker. Not really--made in china. I am not carrying a knife made in china. Way to expensive for the quality. There are scratches on the handle from manufacturing. The knife does not have the feel and action of a real Boker.

Lost one of the set screws that hold the clip the first day while wearing. I called Boker USA and they are sending a replacement. Other than that...satisfied.

This has been a very nice EDC knife. The damascus is attractive and the knife holds an edge. I generally only have to use a steel to get it back to razor sharp. That after cutting cardboard, small limbs, plastic coffee cans, rope, etc. The handle is comfortable. The lock seems secure. It fits well in the left jean pocket without poking or binding when sitting.

The wood on the handle is of reasonable quality, the finish was of poor quality and came off fairly quickly in normal use.
The damascus is merely an overlay of layered steel meant to look like the damascus design almost and 1/4 inch up from the cutting blade edge, meaning it is mainly decorative....

I have had a series of Boker knives, most German made, this is unquestionably the poorest made.....Chinese "quality"
