Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Hi everybody,

I don't know how to start. First of all, I'm 38 years old and I'm actually writing a review for this toy but I have to say, this thing is very funny to look at, the voice is great and the overall quality is very good but, what is it? you might be asking. Let me tell you in the next paragraph.

In this toy, you have 5 "buttons" or knobs, when the voice names a button you have something like a second to react and touch it or pull or twist it.

When it says "twist it" and you have to twist the yellow twist on the upper left corner.
When it says "Pull it" you have to pull the blue one.
When it says "Roll it" you have to roll the orange wheel
When it says "Curl it" you have to bend the green curl and
When it says "Bop it" you have to press the big black button in the middle.

Since you can play in different difficult modes, one player called "solo" and multiplayer, this toy is not only fun but also works like a reaction and mind trainer... get to home stressed and play this with your friends, wife, kids or all of them and you'll forget the stress and even what it means... and the thing after several months looks and feels like new so it very well assembled and durable.

Hope this helps.

I have owned a previous version of the bop-it game and this version is just as fun. Everyone wants to try it from children through adults. My 8-year-old son is addicted to video games, so I thought this would be a good alternative and he picks it up and plays with it often when his allotted video game time is over. I think it is good for kids listening, concentration and hand-eye coordination. Both my husband and I pick it up from time to time and my sister in law, who also has an older version of the game, came over and beat all of our high scores, spurring us to work on improving our scores! Our 3-year-old tries to play it but doesn't really get it, which isn't surprising since the game is rated 8 and up. This is a fun and challenging game with fun sound effects and music.

This toy rated for ages "8+" will provide hours of addictive fun. When I took it out of the box, the adults were practically fighting for their turn to play.

This handheld game is basically a "Simon says" toy. It has six commands (bop-it, twist it, flick it, spin it, pull it, and shake it). The "shake-it" command most times was unresponsive so we deactivated it per the instructions which was simple to do. The volume is adjustable and headphones can be used which makes it a great toy for road trips. There are multiple skill levels but we never made it out of the "novice" level. I personally feel they should have made the "novice" level a little slower so beginners could get a better feel for the game before it speeds up. It can be rather frustrating and young children and impatient adults may decide to put it back on the shelf. If you make it past 100 moves, a new level will be revealed.

There are multiple player modes..solo, pass it, party, and one-on-one.

At times we could not understand the comments being given but the commands to bop, twist, pull, etc were easily understood. The game keeps the top score to beat and announces it. There is a reset button than can be pressed to reset the score to zero.

This toy is very lightweight but seems well made. It comes with batteries already installed and requires no assembly.

Have fun!!

We played the old Bop It game with our children as they were growing up and so it was fun to try out Bop It XT by Hasbro - the latest and greatest and still the funest.

The latest version was introduced at the UK Toy Fair in London in January 2011 and entered the U.S. market in the fall of 2011. It does all the things as our family favorite pioneer Bop It did - challenging you to react to its fast-paced commands like "twist it", "flick it", "spin it", "pull it", and, of course, "bop it." The sleeking looking, modernized 2011 XT adds the "shake it" command to the challenge set.

Another wonderful feature of XT is that it comes with earphones so you can enjoy reading, watching TV or visiting with family or friends while the kids and/or grandkids enjoy Bop It. No more being annoyed by the sounds of commands heard over, and over, and over again. The kids and/or grandkids likely will make use the headphone socket as a means of hooking up Bop It XT with speakers to "enrich" the experience.

Bop It modes include Single Player, Pass It, and Party. Years ago our most popular mode was Pass It and will probably continue to be our favorite mode.

The original Bop It was developed by Dan Klitsner, introduced in 1996, and has won several Electronic Games of the Year awards. Bop It had been my favorite game until that fateful day when I was beaten by my six-year-old son. Despite that, goldie-oldie Bop It fans like me will love Bop It XT.

The Pro's: This game could be played by anyone. It teaches you to listen and recall what you have hear. It is fun to play with a small group or alone. It is a great game for your coordination. Your brain has to work with your hands. It's funny with all it fun comments. There are no pieces to loose witch I hate! It kept my kids busy for awhile. It did hold a couple of their attentions for up to 45 min. This might gone down as they get used to the game.

The Con's: It get's annoying after a while. Especially if you are in the other room while someone else plays. I wish it could be turned way down.

OK, so I'm 52 years old/young and can't keep up with this lively little number, but I guess I shouldn't expect to keep up. Rats. Our daughter (almost 14) has been wanting a Bop-It for a few years and I hadn't paid it much attention, but when we got this XT model I succumbed to the challenge.

The trick is to respond QUICKLY to the commands from a little guy inside the toy. Yes, I believe in elves too. "BOP it! TWIST it! FLICK it!" etc. They come fast and hard, and you only have about one second from the START of the command to fulfill it. No, it isn't easy, and if you have a Scout troop or youth group of some sort this will have 'em rolling on the floor. And unlike your basic video game more than two can use it at once. Tons of fun!

My 9 year-old son asked Santa for one toy and this was it. He first learned about it from the tv commercial on Nickelodeon. The "XT" has more features than the regular "Bog It" and he enjoyed the extra challenges. As parents, we also like the option to use ear plugs for car trips. The ear plugs could also be shared with his older 12 year-old brother so they could play together. I think it is a fun, educational toy because it encourages the player to listen carefully and respond quickly. Overall, we were happy with this purchase. I just wish I could have avoided the shipping fees since it was only about a $20 toy. The package did arrive fairly quickly though with the standard shipping. As Christmas approached, my young son added a clarinet to his Santa letter, which he knew was a long shot. On Christmas morning, both wishes were granted so he was a happy camper.

I love the "Bop It" toy line, I've owned them all.

I purchased Bop It XT two weeks ago from a nation-wide retailer.

This Chinese manufacturered Bop It is horribly constructed.

All my other Bop It's, all the functions operate smoothly and that's absolutely essential for a game that requires quick reaction.

This new XT... The orange "spinner" (the worst) hangs up and is difficult to spin. The green "flick" requires a hefty strike to work and the blue "slider" does not slide out smoothly and also requires great effort to work.

This XT allows for a very short game because many times your reaction doesn't register with the toy.

I'm glad I saved my receipt because I'm taking Bop It XT back for a refund and I'll continue to use my older Bop It's.

I bought this for my 9 year old son. He likes it, but it can be frustrating since it is challenging. Part of the problem seems to be that you have to be pretty fast at following the directions in order for them to count.
